Sounds like a classic
Yep, it's what I do.:thumb:

C.O.A. 12-21-2007 01:12 AM

I'm pretty sure everybody hates God Dethroned, but I have a question for you guys. Does the song "Away From Emptiness" remind you of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"? My friend had me listen to it and I immediately recognized the similarities in a certain part.

rattlehead42147 12-21-2007 01:55 AM

i'll have to check that out but i was just noticing yesterday that the intro riff to Marduk's "Glorification of the black god" is an exact ripoff of the intro riff to Necrophagia's "Ancient Slumber".

FatalEnergy 12-21-2007 02:03 AM

Glorification of a Black God is a version of Mussorgsky's A Night on the Bare Mountain.

Do you not know you classical?

rattlehead42147 12-21-2007 02:03 AM

Not the classical part, the distorted riff (right after the classical part). I'll be honest, I didn't know the composer. You caught me.

FatalEnergy 12-21-2007 02:04 AM

They keep the piece going when the guitars come in, it's still the classical song.

rattlehead42147 12-21-2007 02:10 AM

oh, I'm just talking about what the guitars play, its an complete ripoff of Ancient Slumber. They don't even try to make it incognito.

FatalEnergy 12-21-2007 02:12 AM

THE GUITARS PLAY THE CLASSICAL PIECE!

How dense are you?

Go watch Fantasia again.

rattlehead42147 12-21-2007 02:24 AM

Yeah I deleted that Marduk album so i forgot the classical thing underneath, but at :12 to :28 into GOTBG its all guitars/drums/bass and the strings drop out during that part which was what I was basing my above posts on. And I can only hear the samples on itunes cause i don't feel like redownloading that album.

FatalEnergy 12-21-2007 02:28 AM

From 00:12 to 00:28 where there are no strings, they are still playing the classical piece. Go listen to this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_0GekZl7YA

and get a clue.

rattlehead42147 12-21-2007 02:35 AM

yeah its buried underneath a lot more in the marduk song than in that one though imo. The guitars kind of overshadow the classical part underneath in the marduk song. That song is cool though, I need to check that composer out.

Now go listen to Ancient Slumber.

Ultimate-Guitar, an amazing accumulation on idiocy on the internet.

masscows 12-21-2007 09:26 PM

I can't find Impaled-Mondo Medicale with a bitrate above 80...is it...supposed to be that low?

Valhall 12-21-2007 09:28 PM

Was it originally a 7"? Because most 7" rips are at about that quality....I have a bunch of grind at 80 kbps.

masscows 12-21-2007 09:31 PM

It's out of print on CD so it could be.

At one point they had all of their material free for download on their site, but it seems to have gone now.

I downloaded from there at 128 btw

AA-12 12-21-2007 10:05 PM

Why do bands ruin their music with low bitrates? :\

Tyler 12-21-2007 10:06 PM

I have Mondo Medicale at 192.

Valhall 12-21-2007 10:49 PM
Why do bands ruin their music with low bitrates? :\
Because a lot of online distributors (which handle downloads) have stingy file size restrictions.

And because nobody knows how to compress data efficiently, least of all bands themselves.

C.O.A. 12-22-2007 02:46 AM

Man. I barely even listen to death metal these days. I wish something new and fresh would come around some time.

My copy of Mondo Medicale is about 296 VBR.

I'm starting to lean toward the tech death stuff a lot more lately, like The Faceless, Necrophagist, Psycroptic, Decapitated and Beneath The Massacre. I'm starting to get kinda bored by the straightforward stuff.
Why do bands ruin their music with low bitrates? :\
Because it makes the production more raw.

???

I agree with him 100% death metal is really boring now. No real good new bands.
