Does Mustaine get any of metallica's money for helping with some songs and such ?
I would definitely assume so. He did all of Kill 'Em All and a bit of RTL. Metallica would probably get sued if Mustaine wasn't being paid

metallicamaniac16 02-03-2005 08:59 PM
I want to see it, I hear they got a cheap shot on Mustaine in it though..

I don't understand the rivalry. I don't see why Dave is so sore, but I don't see why its a big deal in the first place either. I'd be pissed if I was kicked out of Metallica, but I wouldn't care like 20 years later, especially if I created Megadeth.
IMO, Mustaine can write some kick a$$ guitar riffs and solos, but I really don't like the way he sings, except on Countdown to Extinction. I like that album.

I'm not a big Mustaine fan because of this 20 year fued, but I admit he is an absofuckinlutely amazing guitarist
the best way to find out what james is playing during solos is to buy the music books. when i was recording sanitarium myself i had no idea what to play during the solos. the book tells you what riffs to play when

get like the real album ones tho, don't get like "ledgedary guitar riffs: Metallica" or stuff like that
hmm il look into it, I have to wait tho till I go to the city next, which might be awhile, also, is there and good way to learn just any solo, easily..? I look at the tabs but alot of them get distorted and are hard to read...

Yes, he got royalties for the songs he wrote.

What songs are you trying to learn? I have the MOP and RTL books if you want me to look them up. I won't be able to get back to you until tomorrow night (USA time) or Saturday however, they're at a band member's house

Use powertabs, man. I find it to be the easiest way of learning solos.

What I do is I learn bits and pieces of the solos, then put them together, but you might wanna take someone else's advice first, as I'm not the best guitarist in here. ;)

Does anyone else think that Jason Newsted is the best bass player metallica have had cause i do. It's just his stage presence

varsis 02-03-2005 09:07 PM

heh, well il see what other post, I can play alot of stuff, i also play acustic, I just need to learn solo's then im set, i can make up my own stuff just off the top of my head but probably can never play it exactly agian lol

No. He used a pick, so i don't call him the best. I think Rob is the best in skill and Cliff is just the original

He's very good. The stuff he did with Flotsam & Jetsam was awesome. I think his talents were wasted in Metallica.

I've heard that he's the best on stage, but Cliff is the original Metallica, and Rob just blows everyone away in talent.

Until Rob writes something like Anesthesia, I'm going to have to disagree.

Yah im a lil to young to have seen cliff in concert but from the videos ive seen he just stands there and headbangs, which is fine cause he pwns.

And his whole crab walking deal, but there's only one thing I don't get about Rob. How the hell does he reach his bass? It's all the way down at his knees!
