Bob Fett was by far one of the coolest characters in Star Wars. At least he was until they introduced Jango :(

He does manage to escape the Sarlac, but he is stranded and of course hurt. His Bounty Hunter rival Dengar, comes along and brings him to safetly though.

he did it by launching grenades and creating a sand slope, or something to that effect didn't he? and he lost all his armour.

That sounds familar, but my memory on the story is a bit fuzzy.

As is mine. I read the book oh so many years ago.
