Night Butler.

Understanding In a Crash 07-06-2005 05:14 PM

Seth the Yankees are making a run for it...

MattSharpIsCool 07-06-2005 05:17 PM

They might end up 2nd in the AL East, but they still wont make the playoffs.

Understanding In a Crash 07-06-2005 05:20 PM

They are going to be 1st AL EAST Seth... I didn't plan on them to comeback this strong before the allstar break.

I haven't believed in them in so long all year but as of recently they have been teeing off on every team.

Dead Star 07-06-2005 05:22 PM

cobert 07-06-2005 05:24 PM

Baseball sux.

oh snap, thats right, i said it.

There is no chance of them winning the East. Curt Schilling is on his way back, and Manny is on a tear.

The Yanks have had strecthes like this before in the season, where they've won a bunch of games in a row. Then they lose a bunch in a row, and they're right back where they started. Their starting pitching wont hold up. You can only score 12 runs per game for so long.

cobert 07-06-2005 05:26 PM

You silly brit.

Baseball is the american pasttime.

Understanding In a Crash 07-06-2005 05:26 PM

Curt Schilling ain't coming back. I will laugh when they win the WORLD series Seth. It's planned.

Dead Star 07-06-2005 05:27 PM
You silly brit.

Thats why I had absolutely no idea what they were saying.

Hes about to make his second rehab start, he'll be back right after the all star break. The Yanks will win nothing besides the honor of being known as the most expensive flop in recent history.

cobert 07-06-2005 05:29 PM

Oh, how I miss the NHL....

MattSharpIsCool 07-06-2005 05:31 PM
Oh, how I miss the NHL....
Word to that. It will be back in a couple months though.

Puma 07-06-2005 05:32 PM

The Yankees won't win the AL East. They probably won't even win the Wild Card. Seth's right.

cobert 07-06-2005 05:33 PM

Im still worrying if one of the penguins only good player, mario lemieux, wont be too old to play. Hes already like, 40.

MattSharpIsCool 07-06-2005 05:33 PM

Minnesota will take the wild card. Or maybe Cleveland. It will come from the AL Central though, I know that.

To cobert: People have played into their 40's before, and played well. Mario will have no problem playing well, as long as he can stay healthy.

Puma 07-06-2005 05:34 PM

I don't pay alot of attention to the AL, right now it just isn't looking very good for the Cubbies:(

MattSharpIsCool 07-06-2005 05:36 PM

If Prior and Wood can stay healthy, they might make a run for the NL wild card, but I dont know. Derek Lee might be out for awhile, and that might ruin any chance the Cubs have.

Whats it like living in Chicago with the Sox doing so well? I'm assuming you're a north-sider.

cobert 07-06-2005 05:40 PM
to cobert: People have played into their 40's before, and played well. Mario will have no problem playing well, as long as he can stay healthy.
Yeah, but he already had cancer once and had to take a break, and....just, hes not at the top of his game anymore. And the penguins traded off all teir other good players over the course of 2 years.

Understanding In a Crash 07-06-2005 05:44 PM

Schilling is never going to have another allstar season again. The injury he suffered, it was his last straw.

I actually live a few minutes South of Chicago, but I've been a Cubs fan all my life. ANd I think it's good for the Sox to be doing so well. Maybe now Sox fans will act more like Sox fans and less like Cubs haters.:p

But I won't lie, it's a bit irritating, seeing as how I have friends/family who are Sox fans, and they don't let you hear the end of it.

MattSharpIsCool 07-06-2005 05:51 PM

In 02-03 he had 91 points in 67 games. He wont have numbers like that if he plays this year, but he should still do fine.
Schilling is never going to have another allstar season again. The injury he suffered, it was his last straw.
I know he wont be as dominant as he was, but I'm sure he can still be the bosox ace for the rest of this season, if not longer.
But I won't lie, it's a bit irritating, seeing as how I have friends/family who are Sox fans, and they don't let you hear the end of it.
From what I've heard, the Sox are kind of like the forgotten team in Chicago. So I dont blame Sox fans for rubbing it in the Cubs fans faces.

Good point. I still think Lemieux >>> Gretzky by a longshot, he almost has the same numbers as gretzky though he played for a shorter time. And, by looking at the stats, gretzky hounded the puck constantly and lemieuz is a team player.

Yep yep. Bet ya don't know me.

cobert 07-06-2005 06:18 PM

Awkward.

Im in the discussion thread with vets.

Eh, I think Gretzky was the best ever, and deserves his nickname.

But I dont understand saying Gretzky was a puckhog. He has more assists in his career than any other player has total points. He also has 1,156 more points than Mario in 608 more games. If Mario played the same number of games as Gretzky, I still dont think he'd have as many points.

Scarred4Life 07-06-2005 06:18 PM

Adrian? Thats sting, I'm Andrew.

See? The kids dont even know who I am.

MattSharpIsCool 07-06-2005 06:19 PM

touche, but I never really abandoned anyone per se. I usually browse through the foums once a day. But I almost never see anything worth responding to. It's all been done before. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Fair enough. But lemiuex has a cooler name...id like to see gretzky play enough games to beat that.

You gave up your right to complain about that when you got too cool for us and became a mod.
You, me and Ryan.... we used to be like a crew. Then you got all high and mighty.
Speaking of Ryan... where is that kid?

Puma 07-06-2005 06:25 PM

No one posts anymore.

MattSharpIsCool 07-06-2005 06:26 PM

Ryan abandoned us too.

I remember the days of pre-mod Sting and Scarred. That was long before I became the coolest guy in the pop punk forum.
