Because you're holding it wrong. |
Sweet Jesus, I just saw Paul.
Man oh Mans, I remember the day when you had the avatar with all the gear alternating between words "My name (pic) is not (pic) really Paul (pic)" And then you were Paul anyways. Still got that TD-40, my good man?
I'm still not Paul, haha. I do, it's currently in pieces, but it's in my possession. My only bass that sees any playing time is a late model Peavey Foundation MIA active 5. Cirrus electronics, ash body, maple neck. Great bass. |

Haha, no thank you. I went through too many basses and too much GAS before I found one with the sound I wanted. It's perfect for me. It's completely dialed into my sound outta the box.
|
I meant the one in pieces.
Has anyone tried those Korg Nanokey/Nanopad controllers?
I don't know how I feel about the Nanokey being all weird, but the pad looks useful. Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap controller? Will be using it with reason.
ive got both, the nano key takes some getting used to but it works |
anybody here do graphic design/art stuff? my bands need artwork

Oh, so it's MY fault for holding it upside down now? I didn't know the songs would just fall out :( |

I remember when that thing was pretty much God! Did it self-destruct? Get parted out? Something else? My (useless except for trivial things) photographic memory also remembers your tripod page - the only thing I remember is a weird color scheme and the sentence "Bringing the low end. Since a while." So that's weird. In other news, the Jazz bass shipped out yesterday. Texas to BC = a million years, I'm sure. but I'm so stoked to get it - in talks with a shop here about getting the electronics through them, see what they have to say. should be neat. What a society we live in; where people are so hooked on technology that they can't even bother to learn about. I mean, come on! a phone? to hell with this, I'm kicking my low-tech protest up a notch! I'm buying a god damn ice box! and converting my house to excersise bike power! It'll be great. |

Ahhhh, you got me Sir. I did just re-read it again - read it the first time too, but the antenna spiel didn't really stick in the ole brain. Didn't really put two and two together. So I see where you're coming from now. Although I remain head-strong about my low-tech cause. I may be sarcastic, but I do try to avoid integrating high-tech whatnot into my personal affairs. I've never been one for the real flashy gear, so none of that really affects me in any way. but yeah, again I did re-read it and for those on the boards using cells it's definitely a sore spot, I'm sure. Not to mention proof that companies do not give a shit about their customers, and are only in it to turn out a crap product for cheap and reap top dollars for it. but hey. |
I wanted to get the frets dressed, so I took it to my friend's dad's shop and it just never got done... I'm kinda pissed about it. It sat for a long time and now I seem to be missing some hardware. I don't even remember that tripod page, haha. What are you throwing in the jazz? |
Whatever I can get for a decent price that resembles a MM Stingray pickup. I've asked about them a few pages back and there were quite a few responses to who makes a gooder, so when the store calls me and tells me what they have (unless they're wimps at which point I'll have to call them) I'll figure things out, or just buy the P/U from ebay too.
The bass is going to be totally redone too - defret, sanded down and painted translucent white (if I can find the paint) and I'll be routing and adding some wood to the body to do all the mods I'm desiring. Should be interesting as it's my first big chore of the sort. and I have no idea why I remember the tripod page, as stated previously it's one of those silly things I remember... but of course that fills up my brain instead of any math I learned in school that isn't 2+2 is 4! 2+2 is 4!, etc. Ahhh, ignorant bliss. |
I'm finding out more and more that I like the playability of my Spector Legend (w/ upgrades) more than I like my Schecter Studio (w/ upgrades). The neck feels thinner and it balances a little bit better.
I may end up **gasp** selling off another bass. That'll leave me with only 3 functioning basses. Wtf will I do with myself? |
Only 3? **** man, you won't be allowed to post on Talkbass anymore.
|
Only 3? **** man, you won't be allowed to post on Talkbass anymore.
Nah, it just means that I'll have to get off my *** and fix up the P-bass and Brice fretless 6er that are still in pieces in my garage. At 5, I'm still allowed on talkbass. And thanks to my bedroom amp, I can always hang out at TalkAmps. It also means I'll probably have to get a new bass. If the Brice fretless doesn't play as nicely as I want it to, I'll get another 6-string Spector Legend and have it defretted and epoxied. Omg fretless mwah-gasm! |
I'm quite content to have 2 basses. I only play my Ibanez as backup (so... never). Mostly only play my Stambaugh.
|
Your Ibanez is only a 4-string with parallel frets. I probably wouldn't ever play it either. :p
|
4 strings and normal frets? I can't believe don't vomit the second they hear it.

I know. What is the bass world coming to!? How's it going, Gaslight? What's been up, dude? |
Nothing good or interesting man, same old crap.
|
Well that's boring. At least make up something so that this forum doesn't appear so lame on the surface.
Btw, has anybody heard from Funky lately? Is he on tour or something? |
Nah if he was on tour he'd be bragging about it on here every day.
Bit of a mystery, maybe he moved into a sharehouse somewhere and doesn't have internet, but it's almost impossible to not have internet if you want it. |
Maybe he was attacked by another shopper in his liquor store. Maybe this time, it escalated to an all-out brawl in which he got to pound somebody's face into the ground and only suffered a few stab wounds in the process. Then, he proceeded to write a song about it later that night while he was high and eating Vegimite. He submitted the incredible musical masterpiece to his manager and his manager took it straight to the top record executives in the U.S. He is currently in the process of signing a contract whereby he receives $2 million up front, is guaranteed 11 albums, and will go on multi-national tours with the bands of his choosing for the next 20 years.
He has to keep quiet about it all for now, though. It's in his contract. |
Unless he got rid of it and has a different one, Ben's Ibanez is a 6.
|
Wasn't he the owner of an old Ibanez Musician or something? I could have sworn that he only had a 4.
|
Who is Ben? If I remember correctly Ryan has an old Ibanez Musician, a cheapo six string something or other, and some other thing.
|
I'm Ben, you nub.
And, yeah, my Ibanez is a 6. The only basses I own right now are all 6 strings. |
