brave new world was my first maiden cd :D
i absolutely played it to death i actaully got to get a new copy, the jewel case is all broken :upset:
my case for Live After Death is broken, infact so is the first disc :upset: |
Yes.
BNW is one of the finest albums ever. Not a single track on there I think's worth skipping (except sometimes The Nomad), as compared to New Frontier and Gates Of Tomorrow on DoD.
TOTALLY AGREE :thumb: |
What are all the instrumentals by Maiden?
I know there's: Ides of March Transylvania Genghis Khan is Paschendale one too? I've yet to hear that one. And I was gonna include Phantom, simply for teh fact that there's hardly any lyrics sung in that, but let's just only count full instrumentals. Are there any more by them? |

I love 'Killers!' "Innocent Exile" is such a rad song. |
Killers is a great album, generally quite under-rated.
i currently have 5 cds in my basket on amazon.co.uk, for £25, inc. Killers and Somewhere In Time. i don't know if i should press the "Proceed to Checkout" button, i need the money...but i don't even have 2 of the cds on my computer (Dio - The Collection, Rainbow - Pot of Gold) NP: Rush - The Spirit of Radio. |

'Somewhere in Time' (IMO) is one of those albums that you just download a few songs from. |
BNW is one of my favourite albums, that's a reason why RiR is so good, I think, because of the strength of the material played from that.
Tomas, get POM before Fear. Where eagles dare and suchlike beats FOTD muchly. NP-BLAZE-the sign of the cross(live) This version kicks arse. |
Piece of Mind > Fear of the Dark
Fear of the Dark's recording doesn't sound good (maybe because I don't have the remastered version). |
I just bought Iron Maiden, Killers, Powerslave, Somewhere In Time, and The Early Years DVD. I haven't listened to Somewhere In Time yet, but the other three are great. I like Paul's vocal's more than Bruce's, I think I'm probably the only person here that thinks that though. I would put the albums in this order from best to worst: Killers, Iron Maiden, Powerslave. Next, I'm going to get Live After Death, Piece of Mind, Seventh Son, and Brave New World. I already had Number of the Beast. Does any one know when the next DVD in the history of Iron Maiden series is coming out or how many volumes there will be?
|
Next DVD in the history of is Death on the Road, which is the end of the series I believe. Bruce is good now, and his studio stuff back in the 80s was good, but live he was pretty bad in the 80s (especially on Live After Death), not being able to hit the notes right and whatnot.
I still think Blaze was a great vocalist. Everybody says how bad VXI and X-Factor were, but VXI put me to sleep. And that's a good thing. I can't fall asleep if I"m listening to a bad album. Not to mention the material on there is great. |

I just bought it my self and i cant stop listenin to it.
Next DVD in the history of is Death on the Road, which is the end of the series I believe.
sorry, but death on the road wont be the last one. In some interviews bruce talked about the next installment of history dvds, aswell as what the next history tour is going to be based on ( powerslave, somewhere in time, and live after death) so if there is going to be a tour, there will be a dvd.
I would put the albums in this order from best to worst: Killers, Iron Maiden, Powerslave
hah you cant list those albums from best to worst, because they are all mother fuckin great albums |
whos a faster guitarist dave murray or adrian smith?
|
murray, but both are great guitarists
|
Bruce>(just about) Blaze>Paul
I am the guy normally saying that anyone who doesn't like the X-Factor is a raging homosexual. |
i love the x factor, cant get enough of 2am and the unbeliever
tis good stuff :thumb: |
I have all the maiden albums, IMO, i think they are all as good as each other, but my personal fave is Somewhere in Time or Dance of Death, im gettin the early days soon (i hope), but i think maiden are playin better than ever, I also play bass guitar and Steve harris is like my biggest idol, and if there was 1 song i wish i cud play it wud be Only The Good Die Young (Seventh son) becuase it has a bass solo and they are VERY hard 2 do :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
|
Seventh Son is one of the best albums ever made IMO. The soul of the band is there, and it is all unmistakably Iron Maiden, but with enough diversity so that they don't fall into the "samey" trap. The songwriting is vivid and clear, the guitars kick butt, Bruce has never sounded better, and the drumming...MWAH!
Only downside to it is the way Linkin Park took their entire sound from the Moonchild intro, and Papa Roach took their entire sound from the Infinite Dreams interlude. |
iron maiden hit their musical zenith at powerslave. powerslave and Everything leading up to powerslave was probably some of the best stuff maiden has ever made.
but dont get me wrong every album after powerslave were amazing to. but imo the first five albums didnt have a skip track. but i still love everything after powerslave to please dont hate me :(:(:( |
Davey > H
Anyone disagree? |
Davey > H
Anyone disagree?
davey was a better guitarist but H was a better writer |
I would agree with that statement, but H needs Brucey to help him write great songs.
|

i have a feeling pretty much does the lyrics to most of the stuff but i could also be terribly wrong |
I think Bruce comes up with the melody for the songs. Also, he plays a little guitar, so he might do chord progressions.
|
haha H has still contributed more songs then davey
|
I know, but solowise, I always like Davey's more.
Plus, Dave wrote Charlotte The Harlot. |
i was just about to metion charlott the harlot, its probably one of my favorite maiden songs ever. BUt yah look at the solo for bring your daughter......to the slaughter. My, god can mr.murray play
|
I hate BYD...TTS. It's on my list of Maiden songs that shouldn't be Maiden songs.
