I just listened to Hooded Menace - "Never Cross the Dead" all the way through and it was pretty great. I'm not a giant Death/Doom fan too.

Yeah it's definitely better than than their first. If you like Coffins or early Cathedral and that style of Death Doom you will enjoy it.

Death/Doom is really hit or miss for me usually. I ****ing hate the "epic" ones with lots of synth and clean vocals.

i used to be into that style a few years ago but i've really outgrown it now

I never really liked it but in high school I explored it a little, like I did with all genres of metal. I still have some Paradise Lost but it's like my power metal from those days....it just sits there.
