thanks. Is his Tatoo album part of his solo career? or part of Taste? Does he have a solo career, or should i just search stuff under Taste?
He had an extensive solo career. I'm not familiar at all with Taste, just that he was in the band. Tatoo, Calling Card and Against The Grain are very good CDs by him. Sinner And Saint has some good and some not so good stuff on it.

excellent. thanks for the info. one more question (and i hate asking this), what sort of genre would you classify him as? like im assuming classic rock, but like more blues, folk, prog etc etc? im just wondering. |
I'm moving the Zeppelin discussion to this thread.
I don't think Stairway sucks, I don't think its overrated. I think that its a good song, but there are other Zeppelin songs that are better. I'm just tired of everyone saying "its the greatest song ever". And Led Zeppelin II is my favorite album of theirs. Its awesome. I love listening to it. I don't like Rock and Roll, Four Sticks, and Going To California. Other than that, I enjoy IV. I've just heard the majority of those song on the Early Days cd, so I'm taking a break from it. I still like them though. Especially Black Dog, Battle of Evermore, and When The Levee Breaks. |

Some of his blues were slow but he was pretty high energy for the most part. He also played sax and harmonica (not on every album, though). Check him out, I hope you like him. He was an overlooked guitar great.

my favourite song is probably The Rain Song. its so relaxed and well orchestrated, i think it shows off the best of each of the members.
|
im listening to this one song...and i hear a beautiful gibson les paul. is that him playing the guitar? its a live in europe song. i like him, i may go out and buy some albums.

That was the second Zeppelin song I heard, after Dazed and Confused. Its such a relaxing song. I love it. Houses of the Holy is probably just after II on my favorite Zeppelin albums. But I's good too. |

you may be thinking of the simpsons...but it could very well be true. i heard zeppelin cracked the ceiling at one of their concerts, and the who were pretty dammed loud. |

that makes sense. back in the day, lots of bands just had one or two amps cranked as loud as they can go, instead of having miked amps. So it was very possible for the ground under the amp to vibrate enough to crack, since they were turned so loud. |

Completly random and out of discussion, but some of you might remember about a week or two ago I was trying to find out the name to this one badass Jethro Tull song I heard on the radio.
Well, I found out it was Teacher (after downloading like 10 songs trying to figure out which one it was). |

However, I'm not an authority on it (traditional Irish/Celtic music) and my copy is a download so I don't know who wrote it. Which song did you listen to? I'm trying to think of an easier name to remember but no luck so far. |

No, I haven't. The only Tull album I have is Aqualung. I'd love to get more..more albums of anyone..but I don't have any incoming..income at this point, and whatever i do have goes to the drum set...It sucks because there's this store that opened up downtown called "Abbey Road Records" which is full of classic albums...Sigh..=p
|
Despite having only one Tull album...you have the best one that they made, Aqualung is amazing
