video nasty demo tape http://www.mediafire.com/?ycbwy91tc9641l8 |
iron lung on tuesday night were so good. i picked up their tour 7" and a copy of Lie Cycle's demo tape (perth hardcore band, quite solid).
suffer pulled out unfortunately because their guitarist (i think) broke his arm, but to make up for it the members of trash talk under a different name (and i think playing somewhat heavier music) opened the gig and the place got torn apart. iron lung were plain awesome. it's amazing how they can make such aggressive and loud music in a live setting which just a drummer and a guitarist. theyre really nice guys too, the stage banter was brilliant. |
Fuck you Aussies, would be keen as for Iron Lung here.

power pop violence 2011 yo |
got my harm's way imprisoned 7" in the mail today but one side of it is all warped :(
not sure how it happened, maybe it melted when it was sitting in my letterbox this afternoon. can that happen? it wasn't direct sunlight and it wasn't very hot today, 30 deg celcius at the most, and it wouldn't have been like that the entire day |
yeah it's possible but it may have been that way beforehand. one time i got a water-warped vinyl from thou and i emailed them about it and it turned out the whole box of them had been sitting in a puddle of water in a basement. they sent me another one free 8)
so idk maybe email them about it. see if something else could have caused it? |
yeah i emailed the guy. he seems pretty cool, he says it wasn't like that when he sent it, and it must've got warped en route to me. he offered to send me some more shit to the value of what i paid, which is fair enough, but i want my goddamn imprisoned 7" =(
i dunno how else it could've gotten like that anyway, sun seems the most likely but i dunno |
bummer city. one thing to do is to make sure the mail man doesn't just put the record in your mailbox. i always make sure they bring it to the door or take it back to the post office for me to pick up to avoid that. same thing happened to some of my screamo records when i was in high school.
|
how would i do that, leave a note on the mailbox?
|
i'm not sure in Australia, but i talked to the mailman one day and he told me that it was a shipping option and i could pay a minimal fee on shipping for it (i think it was like an extra dollar) which was well worth it with how summers got in Tennessee.
|
oh fair enough. guess i'll hit up the post office and find out. LPs don't actually fit in my letterbox so they deliver those to the door or leave a slip to go pick it up from the post office, but 7"s fit through slot
|
I just got the last SFN release, it's so fucking good!
|
Powerviolence sounds like a slang term from A Clockwork Orange.

|

i just went for it and got the despise you LP it has over 60 tracks on it, so yeah might get the split at a later date, cant afford it right now though |
rughh that split is so gguuugh
|
but the despise you album is better
|
should of bought both and not have any money left for food
|
i was already getting two other LPs so money for food was already used
got hatred surge's deconstruct and PLF/in disgust split |
as long u dont eat everything is fine
|
the DY LP was a better choice.
|
def, plus i just dont like capitalist casualties
|
I'll go with man is the bastard / capitalist casualties because it just is.
and the despise you one is a discography sort of both release are equally brutal though! I frown on people not liking capitalist casualties but then again I don't understand weekend nachos at all. I need to get some PLF records! |
i'm in the same boat on cap casualties. i loved them when i first got into them, then i was like ugh.

haha yeah, the 2 weekend nachos release that I actually enjoy are torture and their songs on this comp kill fascist. I got a copy of unvorgivable lp about 2 months ago, trade it straightaway haha so moshy. The lyrics are hilarious though. I'll still wanna see them If they ever come down here.
this bring me the topic that on monday night defeater and miles away played sort of a secret show at the record shop / venue that I 'work' at, I was doing the door most of the time but both of em are not a bad at all. 16 years old hardcore kids everywhere! also I cant find a flyer but check out this show 24/4 - the arthouse FUCK IM DEAD + CAPTAIN CLEANOFF + THE KILL + THE DAY EVERYTHING BECAME NOTHING + SUPERFUN HAPPYSLIDE + ROADSIDE BURIAL [SYD] + GARBAGE GUTS + DIE PIGEON DIE + INTERNAL ROT fuck yes!
