that = my acoustic guitar :upset:

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:14 AM

I finally like the way my acoustic sounds...the strings have been on there for 8 months now.
I finally like the way my acoustic sounds...the strings have been on there for 8 months now.
Hahah speaking of that, It was my friends birthday a week are so ago and he really hates that new twangy sound of strings...So i bought him some exlixer acoustic strings :) :) .

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:18 AM

I like my strings to have twang but I cant stand how twangy strings sound when your playing chords with more than 2 notes. They dont sound like theyre coming together, like the tuning is off.

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:20 AM

I really hope my Agile comes in tomorrow.

BassVirtuoso 07-13-2006 10:23 AM

I want to learn slap acoustic.

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:25 AM

123^^

That would be so sick.

ebe9 07-13-2006 10:26 AM

greetings all

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:26 AM

How's it going ebe?

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:26 AM

Slap acoustic is great fun. I always forget to sharp my notes when I get to the B string though, I forget Im playing guitar half the time.

I miss drugs...

Polyamarous 07-13-2006 10:37 AM

Greetings people.

EDIT: Jesus, that kid in the corner, holding the guitar, looks about 9.

You give drugs to 9 year olds?

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:37 AM

How did you get into playing it?

I couldn't play if I wanted too though. :upset: I might try and put some glue on the bridege. ^_^

Radiobass81 07-13-2006 10:39 AM

I fell in love with a Peavy Basic 50 yesterday.

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:41 AM

Well, first I watched some videos of Justin King to get an idea of how his slap technique looked. You can't slap quite the same on acoustic because the strings are so tight.

Then I just started experimenting with double stop popping, flamenco strumming, and other things to mix it up.

I could record some videos I suppose.

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:42 AM

That 9 year old is my guitarist, and that guitar he's holding is a '67 Gretche chet atkins signature.

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:45 AM

I found that looking for slap acoustic stuff....The beginning is pretty funky.

ebe9 07-13-2006 10:46 AM

so tomorrow is friday............thank goodness.

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:46 AM

I have problems getting that kind of sound.

My acoustic strings are dead and it's acoutic. I'ma keep working on it

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:49 AM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTi9KqYSJjg&search=slap%20acoustic

That in a nutshell is the kind of stuff im absolutely hurting to be able to write.

Ting 07-13-2006 10:54 AM

Anyone know of any cool places to go in Ottawa, or better yet. Good music stores?

PaulR 07-13-2006 10:54 AM

Like a service station, or like a garage?

Polyamarous 07-13-2006 10:56 AM

Service station, I work the little shop they have, and the café sometimes.

PaulR 07-13-2006 10:57 AM

Birthday guitar! But my birthdays not for about 4 weeks.

Poly - full time?

Polyamarous 07-13-2006 10:59 AM

Woah! Nice! What model is it?
No, at LEAST 14 hours a week, all at weekends, plus any extra I can get in other departments during the week.

Thonk 07-13-2006 11:00 AM

What is that? The headstock writing is throwing me off..

That should be here tomorrow or saturday. :D

PaulR 07-13-2006 11:01 AM

Indie Guitar Co. if you've ever heard of them.

They basically make generally stunning guitars that are pointlessly well priced. They are a lot like PRS, but without paying for the name. That was 2nd hand for £299, reduced from £549.

It plays and sounds like a Les Paul Studio, so hoorah.

Thonk 07-13-2006 11:02 AM

I wish that were a PRS.

http://www.rondomusic.net/ps970floyd.html That's it.

PaulR 07-13-2006 11:03 AM

Theres nothing wrong with not having a name brand, as long as it plays and sounds nice enough :D

bottlerocket 07-13-2006 11:04 AM

You're just jealous of my new picture...

Definitely. I haven't gotten to play the one I posted because the shop is like 7 hours away...but a ton of people who have it say it's amazing.

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 11:07 AM

I want twin ovations.

A six and twelve string.

If only I wasnted 1200 dollars in debt.

Normally I wouldn't call people emo but..
