Against Miik! 06-19-2006 02:19 AM

I love the new album. My favorite is still BSitS, but this is probably second. I really dig the electronic aspect, especially in Love Like Winter. And I wish they would make a full song out of Prelude 12/21. Thats such a cool intro.

Firecracker 06-19-2006 03:47 AM

It's always a shame that they don't come anywhere near dorset when they tour. It would be nice for a change.

JamJar 07-02-2006 06:55 AM

I think the only thing that dissapoints me about the DU is that some of the lyrics are weak.

AndNico 07-02-2006 10:50 AM

Very Proud of Ya is my favorite by far....I enjoy earlyer afi...New afi isn't my favorite...i can listen to it if a friend is playing it or whatnot, but i wouldnt put in the CD on my own

Pizza 07-03-2006 12:18 AM

Anyone hear about AFI doing some shows with Tiger Army and Saosin? It's gonna be sweet

yourstruly 07-07-2006 06:47 AM

I'm really into AFI lately. I have their first 2 albums and a few of their newer songs. I prefer the older stuff, but it's all pretty rad.

King 07-09-2006 06:24 AM

Old AFI is the shit.

dirtypirate337 07-13-2006 11:14 AM

New AFI is also the shi't. ftw

Phill 07-13-2006 11:47 AM

I don't mind the new album, Not as good as it could have been

publicastration 07-13-2006 01:25 PM

I have sing The sorrow and Decemberunderground. STS is the best but December isn't bad either.

ZaaR 07-13-2006 06:13 PM

with dillinger escape plan?

xClevelandx 07-15-2006 11:46 AM

I love AFI too. They're older stuff is better in my opinion but I still like it all.

Neoteric 07-16-2006 12:39 PM

Miss Murder is a pretty poor track, considering I loved the stuff on Sing The Sorrow.

BlastFunk03 07-16-2006 07:00 PM

AFI actually has a straight ska song, it's a secret track on one of their old albums i think.

Microwave meals & ideals 07-17-2006 04:04 AM

Just bought my ticket for their Bristol show in October. Oh man it's worth the ridiculous price just to see them finish with Totalimmortal! God help them if they don't play it though...

Flagjacket 07-17-2006 05:44 AM

I bought Laugh Now, Cry Later instead of Decemberunderground when I went to Best Buy on 6/6/06

No way man. You don't know what you're missing.

Go buy Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes, then buy, Very Proud of Ya

or illegally download them off the internet. Either way, get those albums.

Actually, just get everything.

Against Miik! 07-19-2006 06:25 PM

I get to see them in like two weeks. Ace. I like DecemberUnderground, but my favorite is Black Sails in The Sunset. Best songs one DecemberUnderground are probably the first 6, not including The Interview.

cjcc55 07-29-2006 03:12 PM

im just amazed at how much they have changed from there old stuff to du... even from sts to du. yet i still love them...

am i the only one that loves the song brownie bottom sundae? i love that song but no one has ever said any thing about it. his voice is so nice in that song

maco 07-29-2006 06:33 PM
it's a cover of i think "man in a suitcase".
Eh it's only on the Wingnut ATASF cd. I don't think it's on the vinyl (I could walk like 3 feet and figure it out, but I'm lazy). I don't know if the Police are really straight-up ska...ska-punk, yeah. That particular song isn't very ska anyway though.

ZaaR 07-29-2006 10:04 PM

man, you're lucky. i saw them a couple of months ago with dillinger escape plan. the best show i have ever been to. afi put on one of the best performances i've ever seen, plus DEP, it was amazing. davey is great at getting the crowd going, and has really good stage presence. prelude 12/21 is a really good opener live too. i hope you have an amazing time.

ninde linwelin 08-05-2006 10:16 PM

scarlet 08-09-2006 08:49 PM

Art of Drowning was the prime album. Musical bliss yes, constantly changing styles though... is that a good thing?
To me, i guess its good and bad. But moving further and further away from the sound they arguably do best is not a wise move. I guess they see more meaning, but no other band can replace their shoes! Havok you are a hero that voice is amazing.

Ender_ 08-11-2006 01:37 AM

Wow.
I just got AFI's earlier works this week, and I must say I'm really impressed. Definately not what I thought they would sound like with their recent releases.

Very Proud of Ya has been in rotation like every other cd I play. ^.^

Sleeper 08-11-2006 01:48 AM

I'm currently listening to Answer That And Stay Fashionable, such a great album. I like it way more than Very Proud Of Ya.

Pizza 08-14-2006 07:39 PM

I love the bass work on Answer That, but overall I like Very Proud more. Have you people been voting for AFI to win the best rock video VMA?

Microwave meals & ideals 08-15-2006 04:58 AM

The bass on Answer That and Very Proud of Ya is awesome. But SYMAOYE is AFI's best in my opinion. Mark's guitar work, Adam's lightning fast drumming and Hunter's almost metal-esque basslines made for a perfect combination.

Firecracker 08-15-2006 12:33 PM

Who's going to the London Brixton day of the UK tour?

green242 08-19-2006 09:54 AM

Afi - punk.... Not no more
*goes and cries in corner*
I wanna stab whoever made them suck so much

Microwave meals & ideals 08-19-2006 01:11 PM

They may not be punk anymore, but they're still amazing.

Sleeper 08-19-2006 11:14 PM

AFI are one of those bands that have a new sound every time they release a album, some bands either burn out or get old if they keep making the same style/sound to a album.

scarlet 08-23-2006 12:20 AM
Afi - punk.... Not no more

they claim they have no one set style, maybe they'll come back to punk :O!

its good they are trying new things though. I still love them :smash:

Pizza 08-23-2006 02:59 AM

There's no way they will go back to punk, who knows what will come next.

Sleeper 08-23-2006 04:06 AM

I would prefer them to still experiment with there sound, anything is possible for there next album.

holy_roller99 08-23-2006 02:57 PM

i have been addicted to answer that and stay fashionable for the past few days. it is a burnt copy in which all of that tracks are mixed up plus it has some of the vinyl only stuff. there is one song that i dont know the name of but it is definately my favourite. give me a sec to check the track so i can get the lyrics.

nightbringer 08-24-2006 06:58 AM
Who's going to the London Brixton day of the UK tour?
Nah, but I'm going to the Nottingham and Birmingham dates.

EDIT: I actually thought there'd be a lot more hating in this thread after the release of DU. Have people finally got bored of trashing them? (I realise I've left a wide opening for trash talk here).

mookie91 08-24-2006 09:53 AM
it's a cover of i think "man in a suitcase".
Does anyone know where I can get that or what album it is on?

EDIT****
NM got it
