I have the Catch 22 Live!!! CD/DVD (I got it used for 3 bucks) and the DVD part is just a concert in Long Island. The Sax/vocals are bad, and then the trumpet/backup vocals are done by some really fat wigger. He can't sing at all. He makes me angry.
Yeah. He does the fast part in Bloomsfield Ave but really can't sing that fast. |
Yeah, what's the point in speeding up songs like 9mm and A Three Piece Suit when he probably couldn't sing it correctly at the normal speed?
|
I like the fat trumpet wigger. I can't remember his name but he was around on Keasbey nights as well.
Anyway, I don't think the live catch cd is that bad. I like the horn change in on and on and on. |
His voice annoys me, and I never really had a thing for wiggers.
|
I don't understand the Tuesday thing. DVD's do it too.
The reason is that everything gets shipped to the stores on the first business day of the week, Monday, but to make sure that there's equal parity between the stores, they don't start sales until Tuesday, otherwise some stores would start selling it before others... |
Edit: Sorry:upset:
|
The Bamboozle is a big music fest in New Jersey every year. Aside from Streetlight Manifesto, the bands I saw listed this year suck hard.
edit - I just saw Motion City Soundtrack was playing. I love them too. |
hehe, yeah I found out just after my post.
|
So early Catch 22 and Streetlight Manifesto have grabbed a spot in my top 5 alltime favourite bands ever. They are just amazing.
I heard that SM is taking a year off to write another album, supposedly "Keasbey Nights volume 2" Can anyone confirm/deny this? And also, would it be remasterings of the old songs, or new material? |
If you read a few pages back, you'll see that "Keasbey Nights as performed by Streetlight Manifesto" has a release date of NEXT MONTH
Get geeked |
March 7 I think. Supposedly.
|
Anyone else amazingly excited about hearing a possibly extended version of 9mm and a three piece suit on the new album. It's one of my favourite tracks on KN and the horn lines on it are great.
|
If they are remaking songs, which I don't think any of us know if the do, then the song I'm the most excited to hear is 12341234. I think that song is awesome, but it kind og misses something. The drums could be better I think.
|
So where's everyone hearing about the news of a new album so soon at?? I hope it's true because i'm really excited!!!
|
the victory records website (www.victoryrecords.com) has it listed, i believe. plus, it was listed in some upcoming cd promo victory put out.
|
Ha, last time I checked this thread months ago and about 20 pages ago the same things were being said. How can you regurgitate something for so long? You don't know what they are going to record, all you know for sure is they are taking time off touring to record now(Source: www.streetlightmanifesto.com ), and BOTAR is also recording something now. But hey, don't let me discourage you guys from your gossiping, I heard they are going to feature Catch-22 members on this new CD! My source? Well, I have a brother, who has a friend, whose sister knows this girl whoses cousin saw them, who overheard a kid talking to a merch booth of a band playing with Streetlight that had been told Catch-22 members would be on this new CD!
Everyone is excited, but I've seen so much dumb stuff in this thread and other forums about these CDs, just trust that these guys are going to make some good music for us to enjoy, and it'll be 2 years late like everything else they do. |

a drum-teacher i work with listened to the whole KN cd and said that he thinks the drummer's horrible |
Hes not horrible, but hes not really anything special.
you seem real desperate |
I think that this release date is for real, even Victory has it on their site.
|
Yeah but Victory also said it would be out January 20th.
|
you seem real desperate
You seem real thick. Honestly, I don't know how well to reply. You gots to be dumb, kid. |
a drum-teacher i work with listened to the whole KN cd and said that he thinks the drummer's horrible
He isn't good, that's for sure. The drums are much better on Everything goes numb. |
He isn't good, that's for sure. The drums are much better on Everything goes numb.
I'm not gonna argue with that, but i wouldn't say the drummer from Catch 22 is horrible, i think the rimshots in 9mm are quite good. |
The drummer on KN has a bit of a snare obsession.
|
I like his use of snare on KN though.
|
The drummer on KN has a bit of a snare obsession.
I think it works pretty well though. Anybody know what gear Tomas used on Everything Went Numb? |
Yeah I don't mind it, but it is a bit much.
|
I think it works pretty well though.
Anybody know what gear Tomas used on Everything GOES Numb?
Fixed. |
Ah my bad, thinking the song.
|
I do that sometimes too. As for Tomas' gear, I have no idea.
|
The drummer on KN has a bit of a snare obsession.
True. The drums on EGN are amazing. |
I spent aaages trying to find out what he uses so I could get the same equipment as him.
Although I'm not sure what he uses after the robbery and all, but before His guitar is an Ibanez AS83 hollowbody and his amp is a digital Fender model, possibly a FM212 by the looks of it. I'm not sure wether or not he uses any paticular EQ or anything but by the sounds of it he just uses his amp's distortion whenever he needs it without any kind of other effects pedal. |
i like streetlight manifesto, but i havent heard catch 22 or botar, are them like streetlight manifesto?
|
Download the album Keasbey Nights by Catch 22 right this minute. Oh, and the BotAR EP is damn good too.
|
I second that.
|
I love Paul Lowndes' drumming on EGN, is Chris Thatcher a lot like him?
I love his sound too... |
He plays the same.
|
it says on the victory web site that keasbey nights release date is March 7
