JACKROXYOU 12-28-2004 12:38 PM

2. it is not a double album(cd) vinyl i have no idea
3. congrats on 5,600 posts

Brew 12-28-2004 12:42 PM

Ah, now it makes sense.

Its on the vinyl version, its a double vinyl thingy and the inside picture is pretty cool.

JACKROXYOU 12-28-2004 12:42 PM

Eitri Is Berserk 12-28-2004 01:00 PM

Glad to hear such opinion. It's good to know that people appreciate Sabbath so much... And still post here so little...:P Is it a live album or just another 'best of'? (too lazy to check :p )

Brew 12-28-2004 01:43 PM

If I'm right, its all the Ozzy-era albums.

Something like that?

kredkeee! 12-28-2004 01:46 PM

Brew 12-28-2004 01:55 PM

Thats a better collection than We Sold Our Soul...

Wow, and here was me thinking that there wasn't a best of that covered Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die!

Its a shame that ''Air Dance' isn't on there, its a great song :(

Agreed, Air Dance is pretty good. And there was a the best of released before Symptom of the Universe - link from Siegler's site:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004SD4G/73407921/104-8115770-0543111
I have got it on a casette. It's good because it also has some stuff from Dio era and Born Again (zero the hero)

Eitri Is Berserk 12-28-2004 02:11 PM

Yeah its got 29 ozzy era songs on it, I'm at a loss of words for describing how great Sabbath is, I mean..I had heard some of the best known songs prior to buying it, partially why I bought it. So I could listen to more of their stuff, but the other songs are all great songs. It also has a little book full of sabbath information, for instance, how Tony lost his finger tips and thought he'd never be able to play again..Very inspirational..The only song they left off of it was Electric Funeral, was that ozzy era?

Yes. It's second or third song on their Paranoid album. I like it, it's very "gloomy and doomy" (anyone heard Reunion?) :thumb: . If you want to buy anymore albums, you should start with Black Sabbath, Master of Reality, Vol.4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Paranoid. In this order.

Eitri Is Berserk 12-28-2004 02:21 PM

I would, but I'm broke. I had 185 when i went out, I'm down to 3..:upset:

IAJP 12-28-2004 02:22 PM

Electric Funeral=best sabbath song,
The best albums gotta be the self titled though,
I would, but I'm broke. I had 185 when i went out, I'm down to 3..:upset:
Do you mean 185, and then 3 bucks? You're quick at spending money :P...
Electric Funeral=best sabbath song, The best albums gotta be the self titled though
I won't agree with any of these. There is NO "ye beste Sabbath songe/albume", imo. Black Sabbath is a great album, so does every other one recorded by Sabbath (from which I know). Amen.

Edit: God**** it, man, I'm downloading from Bearshare a 2GB discogrsaphy of BS file (all 29 albums!) and it is queued now... ****!!! If it doesn't d/l I'll be well pissed off...

JACKROXYOU 12-28-2004 03:56 PM

yea there isn't a best sabbath album

except if you get the black box

Brew 12-28-2004 04:26 PM

Downloading albums is bad.

Electric Funeral is track 5 on Paranoid.

''Best'' albums and songs are different for each person.

ToRidTheDisease 12-28-2004 06:51 PM

Whoa I missed out on a lot of Sabbath talk today.

I slept untill 7:00 p.m.

I can understand the mistake you have made but delete one of those posts. ( I have done that before too)

downloading entire albums like that is wrong you cheapskate. i even gave up burning albums i borrowed from people to cd, i save them on my computer then buy them if i like them.

kredkeee! 12-29-2004 11:03 AM

It is bad, I admit. But worse thing is that I can't even buy them! There is almost NO BS albums in our biggest music shop, and I live in a quite big city. And even if there actually were BS albums here in Kraków, I couldn't afford buying them. is an equivalent of your 10pounds much for a CD? I guess not, for you... But Poland is a... less rich country, so it actually would be like paying 60-70 pounds for a cd. If you get my point.

EDIT: and sorry for making a mistake with number with which comes Electric Funeral on Paranoid. Haven't listened to it for a long time.

IAJP 12-29-2004 11:26 AM

F.X is one crazy song...
I couldn't get SBS today (.) I'll try and get it some other time though.

kredkeee! 12-29-2004 11:36 AM

Just seen Ozzy_Osbourne here, who used to be Laiho (Josh)... If you are here anymore, say, please, wtf is up and why you are banned?
F.X is one crazy song..

Agreed, with that fx. And also unlisteneable, to me. :p

IAJP 12-29-2004 11:55 AM

Meh I can listen to it as many times really,
I just think without that inbetween Changes and Snowblind, what would the album sound like?
As with many sabbath albums, take away one song and you could ruin a prefect album. That's my way of looking at it.

Hmm. That made me think. And you know what? You are **** right! It's a good interruption between Changes and Snowblind... Hold on, there's also Supernaut before Snowblind. But I think you are right. There must be some crazy accent on every Sabbath album.

Brew 12-29-2004 03:01 PM

I nearly bought TYR today for £10.

I decided against it because I figured I could probably find it on vinyl cheaper.

You should have got it then:P it's really worth that cash. I bought an original (probably) for like 5 or 6 pounds. But that was really an exception. Born Again was for about 10. Aargh why are cds so expensive?!

Brew 12-29-2004 03:08 PM

I don't like paying for things :(

I was wandering around with £90 and not a clue on what to buy.

Exactly,
it's the same with Laguna sunrise off the same album,
Embryo (from MoR) that is between After Forever and the heavy (ish) children of the grave...same for Orchid etc etc etc...

Why buy anything? :P If I had £90 I would save them. And get a better amp when I got another £90 :).

EDIT: to i am jimmy page:
The list would go on, and on, and on. And a lot more. Anyone of you heard the Black Sabbath intro on Past Lives?

Brew 12-29-2004 03:15 PM

I was going to get an Mp3 player but didn't have enough for a 20gb beast.

I came home with 2 cd's and a ps2 game in the end.

Acoustic. Duration: a bit less than 2 minutes, and it very nicely fits into the mood of the song. I like it
