Josh D. 02-03-2008 09:38 PM

I figured that to be the case, which is the only reason for it.

publicastration 02-03-2008 11:17 PM

If you were planning on seeing a Canadian date i wouldn't miss it if i were you. A couple sound balancing issues and Rody's cocky self-inflated rhetoric aside the instrumental performances have been solid across the board and the response from the crowds have been pretty insane. Silverstein, despite their own music, they have brought a fair amount of folks out to these shows and the (un)expected(¿) liveliness of PTH's new tracks has won over crowds, cheering for slick guitar leads or just sheer enthusiasm whenever volume allows. *what a blast....*

Tyler 02-04-2008 01:24 AM

Rody's cockiness has nothing to do with his performance issues. In fact, it's the complete opposite. If he can't hear his voice, he doesn't trust it enough, so he tends to either shout, go from the throat or sing off key.

I'm probably going on Friday if they can get me on the guestlist. Here's hoping, because it's sold out (not that I'd pay to see Silverstein -- seen 'em twice already and haven't paid yet, and I wouldn't, because they're awful).

Luke and Tim's guitar clinic should be hilarious. I was told "It'll be jokes. They just lay down farts and stuff.".

DBlitz 02-04-2008 01:25 AM

I'd like instrumental one too please ;-;

quoting cuz of pageturn

Whoa now, i was referring to his between song banter when i was talking about his cockiness. Rody seemed quite a bit more well rounded when performing, from the shows i was at he was right on hitting most notes although he tends to do a few of the high notes lower in a harsh but not growl voice but that is not a quality issue for me; and its been the same for awhile-like when he starting doing harsher vocals when they were touring with Kezia.

No its not like some of those older grating youtube vids. I meant it was more banter and the 'cocky self-inflated rhetoric'--talking about himself, your little sister and such. And i didn't mean for it to sound like a big issue but i felt it worth mentioning since he seems to be getting notorious for it. Also a friend I brought to the show was the first thing they mentioned afterwards was how he came off as an *** during those parts.

C.O.A. 02-04-2008 03:21 AM

It really sucks that all of the other bands that are gonna be at the show I'm going to suck so bad :(

Tyler 02-04-2008 08:37 AM

This is why bars exist.

beans 02-04-2008 12:10 PM

hell yes! they're playing third so ive got plenty of time to pound back some brews

awia 02-04-2008 02:32 PM

well i guess now i know why rody sometimes sounds abbysmal during his live shows on Utube....he been practicing screaming n growling n **** for fortress i guess

beans 02-04-2008 02:46 PM

his lows are impressive, for him, i mean

I think he is one of the most talented vocalists out there today, singing and screaming.

beans 02-04-2008 03:45 PM

i agree, he really suprised me with fortress, he took the ideas started on kezia and just expanded (greatly) upon them, he seemed like he was playing around with screaming on kezia and on this one he just kicked a**

cant believe how good the new record is

big80smullet 02-04-2008 04:15 PM

i like kezia way more than fortress :( i cant seem to bring myself to like it more. i know its better and all but i love kezia :(

beans 02-04-2008 04:34 PM

so do i, its actually kinda hard to pick a favorite so i know where you're coming from

Dimmu Burger 02-04-2008 04:36 PM
so do i, its actually kinda hard to pick a favorite so i know where you're coming from
Like I said last night, I think the vocals are a lot more varied on Fortress so I like that one a lot more right now.

beans 02-04-2008 05:00 PM

lol yeah, right now i really like fortress cause its new and new material always is in the forefront of your mind, but im interested to see which one has more lasting value, i can still pop in kezia any day and rock out

NemesisDivina 02-04-2008 05:04 PM

I just got Fortress in the mail today. I'm listening now... this rules so hard.

Dimmu Burger 02-04-2008 05:06 PM

That's true. We'll see what I say in a few months.

beans 02-04-2008 05:08 PM

yup, im thinking they may just be about the same, i love them both so much i cant pick a favorite

big80smullet 02-04-2008 05:09 PM

i like fortress. i have them both in my car but kezia still gets just as much play time as before, whereas fortress has to compete with the other bands

NemesisDivina 02-04-2008 05:11 PM

This is really, really, really, really, really overwhelming.

beans 02-04-2008 05:11 PM

fortress vs my cd player

fortress is voctorious
This is really, really, really, really, really overwhelming.
really?

NemesisDivina 02-04-2008 05:53 PM

really. but i really don't think it's as good as people are cracking it up to be... however this is only my first listen. the keyboard solo on limb from limb wasn't really that noticeable, tbh.
