It's really cool. Several times the past couple of weeks, I've gone there at about 1am, rented a film by myself, watched it and returned it before I go to bed. Tons of fun.

Nice. It sounds like something that should be put in near my house.. it would cure these long nights of boredom.

Bartender 09-02-2004 10:08 PM

Yeah, it's good. All automated too - you put credit on a card and use that to open the door of the store and to pay for for the rental, and the DVD/video is brought to you on a little conveyor belt - which is cool.

That sound sounds sweet. It would make renting videos ever so much more enjoyable and less work.... I need one in my room.

I would buy a professional studio.

Dancin' Man 09-03-2004 09:30 AM

Bartender, that sounds like a very faulty system.

superpeer 09-03-2004 09:38 AM

It annoys me when people feel the need to express their surprise or ignorance about timezones.

Or if they find it funny.

"Crap, it's ...."

"Haha, it's only .... here"

Firecracker 09-03-2004 09:40 AM

i like timezones. it's interesting. i get terribly confused though.

4.42 pm now.

superpeer 09-03-2004 09:43 AM

I just don't want to cause a chain reaction of times, when I tell someone what time it is.

gmoneyguy 09-03-2004 09:45 AM

10:40 central time

doggonit 09-03-2004 09:47 AM

It is 11:48 Eastern Standard Time.

Is that good?

It's the same time in Toronto

You know, mocking Superpeers distaste for time zone posts would be funny if he was an ordinary peon, however his Mod status dictates that we tread lightly.

Only problem we've had so far was when the guy who puts all the discs in rental boxes put only the bonus disc in.

gmoneyguy 09-03-2004 10:02 AM

mississippi can suck my left nut

Yes, it's true :D

Dancin' Man 09-03-2004 10:15 AM
Only problem we've had so far was when the guy who puts all the discs in rental boxes put only the bonus disc in.
Did you get a refund?

Bartender 09-03-2004 11:05 AM

Yep, we kept the bonus disc one and rented something else out for the night. Took the bonus disc back the next day, they apologised, refunded the money (as well as the £4 or so we'd spent on other films, which was nice of them)..and proceeded to put just the bonus disc back in the machine catalogue. So we tried it again, and lo and behold, just the bonus disc. Again, took it back, refund.

The jackass who works there during the daylight hours didn't realise that it doesn't matter if the disc is physically back in the machine, the computer has to have read the barcode to know it's returned. So it thought we still had it out, and charged us £1 every 6 hours for 4 days before we realised (we'd rented 5 films or so in the meantime, which should have cost about £5, but our £26.99 of credit was all gone). So we went back and complained, they returned the bonus disc properly and topped our account back up to £26.99.

The upshot of all that being, we'd rented about a dozen films so far, and it hadn't cost us a damn thing.

The only reason superpeer gets mad at timezone ignorance is because nobody else lives in Belgium.

:-*

Paranoidd 09-03-2004 12:17 PM

Isn't there like, two halves to Belgium or something? Or two cultures? Flemish and something else? (Please note I may be completely wrong and sound like an idiot, but this is sticking in my head for some reason).

ElectricUFO 09-03-2004 12:19 PM

Morning all! Who else is at work? :upset:

Yeah, North Belgians speak Flemish, like me.

The south Belgians speak French.

It's all pretty complicated.
