i'd listen to the second side (second half if its a cd) on the Thick as a Brick album. They have some pretty good drum solo's in there. I think Jethro Tull had the most unknown yet talented members out of any successful classic rock band, maybe it was because lineup changes were always occuring.
Yea I listen to that one, too. I like this one alittle more. Plus on Dharma for One you can hear how awesome he was in 1967.
what was it about? Jethro Tull or Snoop Doog/the Doors?

what page is the link on?
Snoop Dog.

Its on the page before this.

lunch998 12-13-2004 07:02 PM

Yes, that cover is truly horrible. I could only listen to a few seconds of it. Now all these losers will be wondering who the guy is that sang the chorus on Snoop Dog's new song.

thickasabrick 12-13-2004 07:05 PM

after reading that link i've noticed that in this past year or so The Doors have been licensing out a lot more of their songs to different things.

Bluenotes (a clothing store) started selling many different Doors shirts as well...and i noticed on the tag that Bluenotes made the clothes, so i asked a friend of mine what the deal was she said that Bluenotes actually bought The Doors logo so they could stick it on anything they want. i was a little upset over that since it's more of a trendy/in style store than a music store. they are trying to make The Doors into the big fad of this year.

edit- i've already seen a Roxy shirt with Jim Morrisons face, and it says "Catch a Wave" or something along those lines..but its weird cuz Jim Morrison really wasn't a big surfer or anything, nor did he write surf music

As much as I don't want that to happen, I would give anything to not see a Zeppelin shirt every 5 minutes.

lunch998 12-13-2004 07:08 PM

Luckily for me I don't have to deal with many posers at my school. But it is cool to like the Doors, apparently.

thickasabrick 12-13-2004 07:09 PM
As much as I don't want that to happen, I would give anything to not see a Zeppelin shirt every 5 minutes.
ya but by the time i got to highschool, Zeppelin shirts were already everywhere, i always found sancuary in my Doors shirts. I was the only one in my school with Doors shirts up until this year, people used to comment on how cool they were...now they are just like "eww you buy those shirts, you're just following a fad"

jpj 12-13-2004 07:10 PM

Last month I walked into French class and someone had written The Doors' symbol on the chalkboard. Sadly it appears The Doors are becoming the new cool thing.

thickasabrick 12-13-2004 07:11 PM

i dont mind if people start listening their music, but it seems they only know the name, and jim morrisons name/face.

Well I can't be entierely sure if it was a fan or someone trying to be cool. I fit was an actual fan that's fine, but otherwise

lunch998 12-13-2004 07:13 PM

Fads are killing classic rock. I'm glad people call me a loser because I wear a Led Zeppelin shirt. If it was cool I would get really pissed off.

*faints

Acctually there are no Doors shirts at my school and very few Zeppelin. Its Dark Side shirts that are popular.......I have one:(

jpj 12-13-2004 07:13 PM

It's mainly Zeppelin and DSOTM here too.

Phantasm 12-13-2004 07:16 PM

i can't stand seeing peple wearing shirts of bands. one time i saw a girlon my bus wearing a jimi hendrix shirt. so my friends and i all started harassing her about it. shes not even a jimi fan. becuase of retards like that, i don't buy band memorabilia it seems to me that its the really big fans of the band that don't own the ****. although my dad was a huge queen fan and had a bunch of their beltbuckles and shirts. and as far as that snoop dog cover goes, i think its pretty decent. it could have been worse. he could have cussed and talked about screwing jim morrison's mama, but he didn't.

Broken Arrow 12-13-2004 07:16 PM

I have Zeppelin and DS.

Should I be shot or what?

Acctually I'd love tyo get a Neil Young or QSM shirt, but I cant find them!

thickasabrick 12-13-2004 07:16 PM

ya our school is all about Zeppelin and Pink Floyd shirts. Except most people only buy a Floyd shirt if they are an actual fan.

i've noticed a lot of plain shirts with only the Rolling Stones lips symbol on the front too.

jpj 12-13-2004 07:17 PM

I have 2 Zep shirts. There's nothing wrong with having then unless your one of the people trying to be cool.

Phantasm 12-13-2004 07:18 PM

i still buy the albums though.

thickasabrick 12-13-2004 07:18 PM

hey today i was working out and Cinnamin Girl came on the radio...

i've always wondered whats the deal with that little ending guitar part? like the song stops completely, and a total random riff just starts up that doesn't fit with the song at all. the first time i heard it i expected it to lead into a different song but it didn't.

anyone have a reason why Neil included that little riff? im sure he could have used it in another song of his, not just stick it at the end of Cinnamin Girl.

Phantasm 12-13-2004 07:18 PM

i dont know if albums are classified as memorabilia

he seems like a pretty crazy guy. a lot of his songs are completely opposite to how i think he would be as a real person.

lunch998 12-13-2004 07:26 PM

I wish I could find a Cream shirt.

Phantasm 12-13-2004 07:27 PM

i used to want a zeppelin shirt. but theyre over priced. and everyone has one. i started listening to zeppelin when everyone else was into that boy band craze. i used to be the only one at school that knew the name of robert plants dog or all of the members middle names. and then in the past few months everyone has just come and completely taken over something awesome. now it doesnt matter if you own a shirt of a band, because it doesnt mean anything. its sad. why couldnt everyone have just kept wearing all that rap garbage?

jpj 12-13-2004 07:28 PM

A Cream shirt would be awesome. You could probably find one on teh interweb.

Phantasm 12-13-2004 07:28 PM

I read his biography done by his father(famous writer) and he seemed very down to earth but he was a bit spontanoeus.

oh man that would be kick ass.

i'm trying to find shirts of more lesser known bands, i think Cream would be great. I also want a Jethro Tull one, and a Jefferson Airplane one.

there's this one record store that also sells band shirts, and they have a lot of cool ones, but a friend of mine always buys them all the second they arrive at the store because his parents give him money like crazy. so i gotta search a lot harder.

lunch998 12-13-2004 07:31 PM

BludgeonySteve 12-13-2004 07:33 PM

There are new Doors shirts :)

I have one :thumb:. It's annoying, probably 10 other people will get them, 5 of them will just be wearing them to look cool and have probably heard 1 of their songs or something, 1 will actually like them, and the other 4 will be like "wtf? they're a band> I thought they were a clothing company!
