I was going to go on a mass banning after the latest Mappy/Brent cry-session in the death heads thread, but I'm going to pull back for a second.

I've never really been one to ban people. I delete a lot of posts and dish out a ton of verbal warnings. This is not the community thread.

We've hit an impasse.

It's no secret that Brent is one of the worst posters we've had in years. He contributes nothing as far as discussion goes and continually cites logical fallacies he's never actually learned. That little chart he made? I guess it's cute, but fuck if it isn't stupid.

And Mappy. Mappy, you know you're my bro and all, but for as long as I've been coming here, you've invited pages upon pages of bitching. From the days of your arguing about Korn to the debates over vocal technique and now, your endless love-spats with Brent...

Guys, this needs to stop.

Anglachel, I don't know your real name, but you need to stop, too. You're baiting Brent into arguments for the sake of doing it.

I'm not going to say there's no place for debates. We're a discussion forum. It's kind of the point. But these cyclical bash-fests don't amount to anything. Person A mentions something, Person B bashes it and before we know it, we've got pages of bickering, big-headedness and stubbornness.

So here's where we are. Bans are going to start happening a lot easier from now on. Here are some new rules that hopefully won't be permanent.

First: If, during a discussion or debate, the word "strawman" is used, be it as an accusation or as any point of reference to the arguments made by another poster, the poster who uses the term will be banned. In short, using the word strawman is essentially a bannable offence. Use the words "logical fallacy" in reference to Brent, be they spoken to him or about him, and you'll be banned.

Lastly, if I have to go on these multi-page delete sprees again, bans are going to be proportionate. One post equals one day. You hit 8 posts, that's two weeks. From there, well, I'll use my imagination.

Listen, guys. It's just gotten out of hand. We've fallen from "no hottiebassplaying posts" nearly to "no arguing at all". If you guys can't discuss things properly, just stop bothering with each other.

Brent and Mappy, I know there's this sexual tension between you to, and I know you have a hard time resisting each other, but fuck (not butt fuck)...learn to use your ignore lists.
