I can play most of One, Fade To Black, Enter The Sand Man, Seek And Destroy, and Master Of Puppets on guitar. :thumb: :D
I don't think anyone in here can do that. Congratulations.
well according to SKOM, he was also a bit of a drunk, even worse than Hetfield when he checked himself into rehab
He went to rehab many many times I believe. I can't remember the exact number.
http://www.metallicaworld.co.uk/Interviews/1996_load_perspectives.htm

" It is the ultimate subversive act. In thousands of record stores throughout the world, displayed for anyone to see, is a photograph of ejaculated sperm mixed with blood. The cover of Metallica's humorously titled Load is a 1990 photograph titled "Semen and Blood lll" by the controversial artist Andres Serrano (his 1987 work, "Piss Christ"--a cross submerged in the artist's urine-- was condemned on the Senate floor by Republican senator Jesse Helms) that Hammett found in a book of Serrano's work that he bought at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Neither Hetfield nor Hammett will talk about the meaning of the cover art. "I don't really want to get into exploring the deeper meaning of that image only because I don't want people to hear it and get a mindset on it and always see what I get out of that image," says Hammett. "I'd rather just explain that it's semen and blood and it's by this guy named Andres Serrano and that I think it's a really beautiful abstract image that is open to a lot of interpretation and metaphor." "
I get the feeling Hammett didn't want to get into it because even HE didn't know what they were thinking, but what's done is done. Maybe when it came to deciding an album cover they agreed they hadn't done anything controversial enough in their careers.

Leper 02-01-2005 12:18 AM

uggh i just got my copy of Load (lol probly bout the first time i've touched the album since about 2 months after i got it) and all i can say is that's ****in disgusting.

led_zep_luvr 02-01-2005 12:21 AM

Good for you!

JACKROXYOU 02-01-2005 04:54 PM

yea people love to rag on post black

Mister_Che 02-01-2005 04:57 PM

They aren't open to other sh.it. Like they can't accept that Metallica wanted to play what they wanted to play.

^Dream~Theater^ 02-01-2005 04:58 PM
They aren't open to other sh.it. Like they can't accept that Metallica wanted to play what they wanted to play.
Exactly. If you don't like what they play, then turn it off. You can do it to every other band you dislike so why should Metallica be any diffrent?

JACKROXYOU 02-01-2005 05:02 PM

yea how many master albums can you make even with cliff?

ThrashMaster27 02-01-2005 05:19 PM

That's what I keep saying to people. There's no consistant bands that release all quality albums over 22 years or more. Even Judas Priest can't do that.

Well actually I lie, Overkill managed it.

JACKROXYOU 02-01-2005 05:27 PM

yea next angel of ret

but yea no one has done that except say

elton john?

Joe 02-01-2005 06:26 PM

Well how long have the Chili Peppers been going on?

And Elton John? and Eric Clapton?

Joe 02-01-2005 06:30 PM
I can play most of One, Fade To Black, Enter The Sand Man, Seek And Destroy, and Master Of Puppets on guitar.
but the real question is can you play them right. today i actually recorded both parts of Sanitarium and Master of Puppets and it made me realize how amazing of a pair James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett are. It took me probably an hour or so to get the playing and timing right. But now i can say i can play sanitarium :thumb:

and i can play that list and then some except for the S&D solo.

Joe 02-01-2005 07:43 PM

...bump? this thread dies and then lives for a few hours and then falls back page by page...

what songs can everyone play?

FTB
MOP
One
RTL
Sanitarium
S&D (most)
RTL (most)
Nothing else Matters
Unforgiven (except solo)
Of Wolf and Man
Holier than Thou
Enter Sandman
Call of the Ktulu (except solos)

Huber 02-01-2005 07:46 PM

Well on guitar I can play little bits of:

Creeping Death
MoP
Fade to Black
One
Enter Sandman
And Justice For All

On drums I can play thouroughly:

Enter Sandman
And Justice For All
Dyer's Eve (slowed down)

Joe 02-01-2005 07:48 PM

so slip, you pissed at this tom delonge guy too???

back to the topic

i can't play drums, but i could probably play most of them on bass (after buying a bass, practicing a lot, and slowing them down)

Huber 02-01-2005 07:49 PM
so slip, you pissed at this tom delonge guy too???

can someone tell me if there is any truth to the rumor i've heard about metallica making a new album? if they are, when is it due for release?

Joe 02-01-2005 09:31 PM
