Isn't it "Other Music" that has the featured genres?
Just bought The Cranberries - Everyone Else Is Doing It So Why Can't We? off ebay for £2! ($4) Mega bargain!
They have that in my college. I never took it out, though.

Zappa 06-16-2005 04:38 PM

I bought a melodica on eBay last night. I'm going to rock that thing way out when I get it.

Wanker 06-16-2005 04:39 PM

Can anyone tell me in simple terms how to make a list on RYM? I tried following the instructions, but I don't get how you're able to select your list and and click on that button in the artist's profile and get that all to work. :(

YDload 06-16-2005 04:39 PM

Zappa, did you or NPC ever close that horrible "10 favorite Guitarists" thread that was polluting the Alt/Indie forum?

Judging from what I've read of your posts... Your room is filled with strange/unusal instruments
When I go to The Blood Brothers gig, it starts at 1pm right. It takes an hour to drive back to my house. With this knowledge, can anyone give me a rough estimate of when I could get back home by?
1pm? Is that an instore gig or something?

EDIT: It seems they are playing at 1pm at the Rev... well there ya go.

Ummm... I guess the show would go for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. So you could be home by about 4:30 or 5:00pm.

Little Man being Erased 06-16-2005 04:48 PM

Wanker - Click on the 'New list' button, name your list and do that other stuff. Then go and find the artist you want to add to the list. On the artist page scroll down to the bottom and you'll see 2 drop down boxes where you can add an album or the artist to your list.

One of the girls from The Magic Numbers plays a melodica. After I saw them on Channel 4 a few nights back, I was going insane trying to remember what it was called.

I never did.

And as for what Knifeboy said, yeah I do have a lot of weird instruments lying around. I like them. I have a drawer in my dresser devoted to instruments, actually, and my closet is chock full. The melodica should be a good addition. I'm going to a traditional music fest this summer which I attend every year, and this year I'll have a nice little acoustic instrument to bring around and jam out on.

I remembered the discussion about chavs a few weeks back and suddenly I came upon this awhile ago.

Wow

I should hang out here more often. I'm in this forum all the time, and the pit just bores me lately.

Hehe, I'll still be lugging my acoustic guitar around the Reading campsite.

It's amazing the amount of free beer/phone numbers you get.

I just saw myself on the Tufts website.

Glitterati 06-16-2005 08:12 PM

Hurray for Internet celebrities! Was it a live show of The Roots or something?

np: John Frusciante, Regret

Jacaranda 06-16-2005 08:46 PM

So I've been to every CD store besides Wal-Mart looking for John Frusciante CDs and so far nothing. Best Buy nothing. Sam Goody nothing. K-Mart, Target, Rockin' Rudys etc. Nothing I'm starting to get mad.
/got Rush instead

Really? I've seen his albums available pretty much at any store that sells CD's(Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.) around here. Try buying it online, I guess.

The only place I've seen his albums are HMV.

$25 for SCWP? I'm not made of money, dammit  !

Electrocution 06-16-2005 09:12 PM

Sam Goody could be the worst store ever.
