Perhaps someone could help me with this problem I have now that the attention is here. I've made my compilation, but I'm having trouble uploading the files in one go, since I will be uploading an entire folder, which won't work, so I'd have to upload song by song. How can this be overcome so that it is just one file I can link to to download them all? Thank you.

munky_magik 07-12-2006 01:54 PM

Use Winzip on Winrar to compress the folder into a single file which you can then upload.

Can you please close the June Daily Upload thread:
A question, actually, in case any of you happen to know the answer:

I have the 'show my reputation level' option disbaled but as far as I can see it still shows my reputation? Is this a common thing or just a bug that needs working out?
I don't think that function works.

have you looked back in Options to check that it's actually disabled? Because I had my reputation showing enabled, but when the server came back it had been disabled and I didn't change anything.

Shhh... Brum's off to the big town.

Drunken Viking 07-13-2006 06:47 PM

Jesus that's a big avatar.

Just wondering, how do you check rep.

Stormrider 07-13-2006 07:42 PM

User CP, and it shows your 5 most recent rep.

Riva 07-13-2006 10:09 PM

That's is 100% correct, Jamus Von GoodMusicTaste.

Silenius 07-13-2006 11:25 PM

Nice avatar, I remember hearing that one of the Floyd guys died. :(

Anyways, I had forgotten all about rep, I believe I am still at 39 points (last rep = nov 2005). :-/

Ah, Ok. Thanks J.
have you looked back in Options to check that it's actually disabled? Because I had my reputation showing enabled, but when the server came back it had been disabled and I didn't change anything.
Yeah, I've made sure to disable it but as far as I can see it doesn't change anything.

Spam. Most likely the same user with multiple accounts

If any Mod feels this is a good idea and there should be more, perhaps this should be stickied, and somebody with a knowledge of another metal sub-genre should do another one (for instance death metal).

Silenius 07-17-2006 01:01 PM
There's already a featured genre series, so that should probably be renamed to Featured Genre #10 or whatever.
Well, I guess yes, this is more of a discussion and clarification thread than a get-you-into-the-genre thread but I'll leave it up to the Mods. :)

Riva 07-17-2006 04:39 PM

I say we need more Featured Genres! Here here! Huzzah!

*opens a keg*

^^ I ask that he be banned for spam. call everything or call nothing. I get banned on the most minor stuff and for spamming.

^^^ I'm reporting the post above by Silenius.

Mekkalayakay 07-17-2006 09:54 PM

I looked at his last two pages of posts. He's clean. That would be entirely stupid to ban him. If anything a warning. Isn't a chug smiley supposed to mean I agree, Hooray!" Should posting only those words be a bannable offense too? I don't think so.

I'm Charming 07-17-2006 10:03 PM
No spam is allowed. This includes nonsense posts, 123 or variations of, posts consisting of a smiley, etc.
So enforce rules for everyone, not just my blank posts.

Mekkalayakay 07-17-2006 10:09 PM

Ugh I still disagree regardless. To me it makes a difference in what type of context the single smiley is placed. If it's random, like:

threadstarter: What kind of guitar do you like?

user one: :p

user two: :)

Then ban.

I say for what Silenius did, warn him not to do it again or it's a ban.

Not really. Violating rules is violating rules.

My only point for mods is. Step up and be consistant.

Mekkalayakay 07-17-2006 10:16 PM

And what I'm trying to point out is that some rules have acceptions, and some rules should constitute warnings, not bans.

Silenius 07-17-2006 11:31 PM

Haha, it's kinda ironic that you are bitching about consistency when it is you who spams regularily and ranted your NS **** all over the place. If you ban me fine, I guess you could according to the rule.

Also, what do you contibute to this forum Charming, besides looking for fights and spamming?

I'm Charming 07-17-2006 11:33 PM

I'm not asking for a ten year ban.

Just a "one day ban" as I got for my FIRST blank posts/very minor spammage.

See the post above, like I said, you have done loads more of spamming and such so you are walking a finer line.
