That Ibanez and my piece of crap acoustic, which I havn't played in ages.

EDIT: Guitar Center took the Jackson back since they agreed on the Floyd Rose troubles and the excellent condition it was in.

I got 287 of 320 back on the Jackson and played this guitar after trying like ten guitars... and I fell in love with it.
haha. so touching.....

I'm also getting there on tuning by ear, though far away. I wanted to drop it down to D but the amps with tuners where taken so I just went by ear.

When I got home and tuned up, it was almost perfect. :smash:

Any ideas for songs to learn?

Dimmu Borgir or AYDY if anyone has a text tab for that.

I was considering buying that exact one...went with my Schecter instead, though. It's a very secksy piece of equipment.

I've never played or cared about Les Paul's that much. The Epiphones I've played though had a nasty tone to them. It was very "fuzzy" and they felt slopppy. Well, except the Zakk Wylde sig, that was sexy.

I only have two guitars :(

at the end of the school year im gettn a new guitar and i want it to be either a jackson or ibanez. which one do you think i should get and what model?

I hate the look of rosewood fretboards now, ever since I got my maple neck Ibanez Rg700 and started my ESP SV obssession which has a ebony board, that's all I like.

is the ESP one you have the same one alexi from CoB has?

i just found out CoB is playing aniheim (how ever you spell it) and i live in LA. theyre playing on the 10th but the only problem is that the 10th is the day i get back from my spring break and theres no way my parents will let me go!!!

Alexi has an ESP which is the same color though. If that's what you're thinking of.

Well, I'd reccomend against Floyd Rose Tremelo. Unless you do non stop divebar action. It takes years to string the guitar, tune and it's not worth the trouble. Plus makes it difficult to go between tunings.

Example, with this Ibanez. It stays in tune just fine. But since there's no FR locking down the strings. I can go between EADGBE, DGCFAD, DADGBE or BFBEGD in about 20 seconds.

By the way, on espguitars.com or w/e it is. You can look at Alexi laiho's sig ESP. It's 4000 bucks, if you were wondering. Way overpriced for what it is.

He was quoting me btw. (too late) And no, I don't even have an ESP SV, I just like them alot. Alexi's model (RV) is a modified SV.

Floyds don't take years to re-string or tune. I can put my whole guitar in F (Meshuggah tuning) in 2 mins, it's just your technique tbh, just gotta know what to do.

I play Sixpounder (minus the solos). I need to get my arse in gear and learn the first solo. I'm not touching the second one though. :p

I'm going to learn Slayer- Silent Scream & Dimmu Borgir-Allehelgens Dod I Helveds Rike.... Infact I did choose another DB song. There's no way around learning this song. It's catchy and brutal.

One of them was playing lame, simple and beyond easy riffs while the others were saying things like, "omg dude keep going, keep going man" etc etc. I felt like I was listening to a pr0n flick or something lol. So I moved over to the line 6 amps which were right next to those kidiots..... Then I proceeded to turn the amp plenty loud, then played Nile- Lashed To The Slave, prolly the best I've ever played it. It was up to speed and the string skipping was done perfect. One of the kidiots noticed and looked shell shocked. It was rather funny. I didn't say anything, I just let my playing speak. They shut up really fast, I had a good lol.

Thought I'd share.

i play the same way... to be exact i prefer the second way/picture. i tried several times to play while standing but then the guitar has to be very high... i can't play guitar so low as jimmy page has played - i play as high as petrucci... it looks awful :angry:

haha thats cool that you can play sixpounder if though its not with the solos. i might learn it soon after im done with ashes of the wake. i just have the third solo to learn and im done, finally. i just learned allehelgens dod i helveds rike two days ago. my advice to you is listen to the guitar parts carfully and read the tab as its going to get a better understanding of how to play it

Alot of Guitar's are doomed to have Stairway and Iron Man clunked out of them by grubby hands before their bought.

but i hope the next time i will be able to play swamphell by kalmah at 110bpm (minus the two solos) ... i reached the 100bpm mark today (only for a short time without mistakes :( )... i could play it at 110 but then it would be too sloppy. though i still practise it at 80-90bpm

man, i haven't played guitar for 2days and i started to suck on guitar :angry:

i just realized that the song "Scarified" by Racer X and written by Paul Gilbert isn't that hard as i always thought. its 120bpm fast and the tab doesn't look hard... the only hard parts could be the rhythm in some sections.... thats all.
i think i will try to learn this song next :D

It's 140 and is very hard, actually. To get perfect, it'd take a long time I think. Most people that attempt this bugger up the shifts during the intro rhythm, make it sound too much like a slide which = slop.
Not many people take the time to practise it properly, so it's never perfect, PG is da man!
