so there is no better way to play it!?

MRDuCran 04-05-2006 06:42 PM

Thanks, I was aminly aiming it at you since I knew you liked it and had it. :thumb:

About the solos, I'll try and work them out myself, that's why I asked that you upload them, I couldn't get hold of a download and my media player won't rip the song in anything less than an hour.

But I'll let you know if i come up with anything different.

If I'm in town when they're touring, then most definitely.

COBHC VANCITY 04-05-2006 07:28 PM

man, i was planning on saving my money for 2 WEEKS and getting a floor ticket, and they sold out in like 2 days. so now i have to settle for a seat in the stands, hopefully we'll be able to crash the floor. :)

I hope not, Because im usually pretty damn late when making plans.

MRDuCran 04-06-2006 12:34 PM

I just played the We're Not Gonna Fall solo at 150bpm, I am happy.

kurrpt 04-06-2006 12:35 PM

i wanna hear. now!!!

:D

MRDuCran 04-06-2006 12:57 PM

It was only a few times, last time I tryed and practised it, I was only able to hit 130 cleanly so it's not going to be consistant yet, few more weeks maybe and it might be there.

kurrpt 04-06-2006 12:58 PM

nice man :thumb:

i recently overhauled my technique again. I think i should be able to hit 155 in a week

/seriously

AA-12 04-06-2006 02:18 PM

I just learned the solos to The River Dragon Has Come. So much fun to play, they are definitely my favorite solos at the moment.

Is that your highest speed you play at? Or a little under.

By who?

*beaten

EDIT: Nevermore = me teh winah.

Shadows 04-06-2006 03:22 PM

I just re-learned all of the Kissing the Shadows leads again. Very fun stuff, especially since I was able to play them all at top speed.

MRDuCran 04-06-2006 03:51 PM

Nevermore.

Shattered_Future 04-06-2006 06:08 PM

Is that DHIADW era Nevermore? Or DNB?

Either way, I gotta listen to the first, and relisten to the second. Nevermore slays.

Great news! I got a new guitar.

Guitar Center was really cool and took back my Jackson JS30DK even though it was 8 months old. It was in excellent condition so that was good. I got 287 outta 320 back on it. I found a sick Ibanez and got that.

Coming soon to a monitor near you!

You still have YSI working for ya?

It's white/black trim. Like the color/style of Alexi's white ESP. Except it's not a V guitar.

I really liked a Randy Roads V guitar from Jackson. It had strings through the body as does the Ibanez I got. But I played it sitting down and it was rather awkward. Since I only play standing half the time, it's not worth it.

YSI is working flawlessly. :D

My rhythm guitarist has a Jackson Randy Rhodes V, it's a pretty damn nice guitar, but I find it near impossible to play sitting down.

Good good! It's always good to support the medical staff!

Damn right. The cord was digging into my leg and that got rather annoying. Plus it was rather difficult to pick at all fast.

MRDuCran 04-06-2006 06:41 PM

Why don't you just play it like Alexi does, with the top wing on your right knee.

I'm Charming 04-06-2006 06:42 PM
Why don't you just play it like Alexi does, with the top wing on your right knee.
That's basically what I was doing.

The way he held his Wild Child Jackson in the HCDR licks video.

MRDuCran 04-06-2006 06:44 PM

He doesn't use that guitar in that video.

He used it in Passage to the Reaper, and a green pinstripe in Reap N Roll licks.

Umm. I'll have to watch the videos again.

The black and yellow Jackson was his Wild Child one right? That was in PTTR.

Meh. The point I wanted to make was how he held the V guitar.

MRDuCran 04-06-2006 06:48 PM

lol.

It's pretty much the only way to hold it, or it'll fall off or be practically unplayable.

AA-12 04-06-2006 06:50 PM
Why don't you just play it like Alexi does, with the top wing on your right knee.
Yeah, I always play in a classical like style, my style is basically like this and/or this.

I also just realized that I rarely ever play standing up. I've only done it like 4-5 times.
