Yep, you're right.

Tangy zizzle 06-15-2006 09:38 PM

Woah, Avatar is really something. On first listen impact, I like this more than previous Comets' material.

Tangy zizzle 06-15-2006 09:57 PM

Ok, so my day of diggage is now complete. I'll stop until I sleep, which before the act I'll probably listen to Super Furry Animals.

So, today's tunes:

Cursive - Happy Hollow
Comets on Fire - Avatar
400 Blows - Black Rainbow
Jackson Browne - Runnin' on Empty (fuck you)

The Great Decay 06-15-2006 10:04 PM

Groff (I think his name was) from the Super Furry Animals opened for Bright Eyes at the show I went to last night, his music was neat.

Tangy zizzle 06-15-2006 10:09 PM

Gruff. What an odd line up.

pixiesfanyo 06-15-2006 10:42 PM

Why the fuck is Blonde Redhead so god damn good..

moosepirate 06-15-2006 11:15 PM

Unrest- Perfect Teeth
XTC- English Settlement
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Plagiarism EP

Wow.
Is that a good wow or a bad wow?

Kyle 06-16-2006 02:33 AM

The Atomic Bitchwax
Electric Wizard
Guns N' Roses
Dresden Dolls

Jacaranda 06-16-2006 02:38 AM
Electric Wizard
Dopethrone?

Kyle 06-16-2006 02:41 AM
Dopethrone?
Yeah, thanks :p It's a really good album, but still think I prefer Let Us Prey, because it's just more my style. Dopethrone is like the heaviest thing ever, it's amazing, haha.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 06-16-2006 05:34 AM

Mission Of Burma - The Obliterati
Avenged Sevenfold - Waking The Fallen
Bell Orchestre - Recording A Tape the Colour of the Light

Minus The Flair 06-16-2006 07:46 AM

Gatsby's American Dream - Station 5 The Pearl
Is that a good wow or a bad wow?
It's just a wow.

It's interesting, to see DEP be sane.

Little Man being Erased 06-16-2006 09:09 AM

Ryan Adams - Cold Roses
Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
Elvis Costello - This Year's Model

Holy cow, how fun.

Glitterati 06-16-2006 10:21 AM

London Calling is good stuff, Little Man. Clampdown is probably my favorite song off there, and the opening riff to Brand New Cadillac is fun to play.

Digging The Flaming Lips today. I can always count on these guys to cheer me up when I get bad news.

Little Man being Erased 06-16-2006 10:35 AM

"bad news" sounds like a story wanting to be told...

Glitterati 06-16-2006 10:40 AM
"bad news" sounds like a story wanting to be told...
Eh. Pseudo date that I was supposed to go on tonight didn't work out. No biggie.

Little Man being Erased 06-16-2006 10:58 AM

Eh indeed. Eh eh eh.

The Streets - Original Pirate Material

moosepirate 06-16-2006 12:08 PM
More Unrest fans? Life is good.

Imperial f.f.r.r. is required listening.
I guess Imperial f.f.r.r. gets the slight nod so far, but I still like Perfect Teeth. The latter is more fun and energetic whereas the former is more dream-popish and girly.

Interstate 06-16-2006 12:23 PM

Ambulance LTD - LP/Self Titled
John Vanderslice - Five Years

The Great Decay 06-16-2006 02:11 PM

Forgot that this is awesome.
Just got this in the mail today. Good stuff. Wish more songs were like 'In The Beginning' though.

Bukowski 06-16-2006 04:31 PM

Hella - Hold Your Horse Is

This is cool. I wish I could play like their drummer.

Ornery Cephalopod 06-16-2006 04:54 PM
Woah, Avatar is really something. On first listen impact, I like this more than previous Comets' material.
Based on the few songs I heard of it so far, I totally agree man. Good stuff.

sketchyjoe 06-16-2006 05:25 PM

Men Without Hats

pixiesfanyo 06-16-2006 08:59 PM
What is it like? Haven't heard them.
It's like '70s Rock n' Roll + Lightning Bolt.

pixiesfanyo 06-16-2006 09:23 PM

if you want some send me a message later.

Zebra 06-16-2006 09:34 PM

Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons

The samples are kind of lame but the music is pretty soothing.

Ornery Cephalopod 06-17-2006 10:31 AM
can't be bad.
it's better than bad. it's good.

Dog 06-17-2006 12:17 PM

it's log.

Lexxy 06-17-2006 12:26 PM

i've been listening to the band of horses non-stop lately!!
i cannot get their melodies outta my head!! esp. this song: The Funeral (Album) by Band Of Horses : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/16497956

Robert Crumb 06-17-2006 12:39 PM

7L & Esoteric - A New Dope
Dabrye - Two/Three

All are pretty nice. I'm digging A New Dope more, though. In fact, it's subtly awesome. Serge Gainsbourg samples.

BringHomeTheBacon 06-17-2006 12:49 PM

Sunny Day Real Estate- The Rising Tide
Well, this is nowhere near as good as Diary but it definitely has it's moments. The last two tracks are excellent as are "Killed by an Angel" and "Snibe". I'm going to review this for Sputnik, I haven't written a review since November.

Glitterati 06-17-2006 01:17 PM

Ben Folds - Rockin' The Suburbs

I had this on my computer a long time before listening to it, and now I don't know why I put it off so much. This is good pop-rock.

Kyle 06-17-2006 01:31 PM

New Muse album is actually very good.

Rejd 06-17-2006 04:41 PM

The Boy Least Likely To - The Best Party Ever
Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt (Amazing album, give it a try although the lyrics are in swedish)
Orange Juice - The Glasgow School
The New Por*ographers - Electric Version
Ted Leo And The Pharmacists - Hearts Of Oak

sketchyjoe 06-17-2006 04:56 PM

I love Hearts of Oak

Even in Blackouts - Myths and Imaginary Musicians - The acoustic side-project of the Screeching Weasel guitarist.

World/Inferno Friendship Society - Red-Eyed Soul - The new WIFS. Consistently high-standard.

La Revolucion 06-17-2006 05:12 PM
Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt (Amazing album, give it a try although the lyrics are in swedish)
This album is excellent.

I've been digging Ride - Nowhere. It's relaxing and energetic at the same time.
