Sheesh, if you don't allow a little bit of off-topicness then the Place will get stale. Just as long as it's limited, off-topic subjects are good in a thread dedicated solely to one subject.
i dont understand
i dont understand
no?
If you have the whole thread on only Metallica related subjects then it'll become boring. If you allow a bit of off-topic posting here and there it injects life into the thread and makes it more fun, well at least so I've found.

JACKROXYOU 01-30-2005 02:56 PM

yea but it was kinda about metallica

but it was over

JACKROXYOU 01-30-2005 04:12 PM

where we at now?

Master Of Nebulah Frost 01-30-2005 04:29 PM

Dt.

JACKROXYOU 01-30-2005 04:38 PM

is there any new news on the new album

black album did bad as hell in the polls

Chu 01-30-2005 04:44 PM

Err, back to the Dream Theater discussion (Sorry, I came in late :p) I'm pretty sure every member of Dream Theater credits the early Metallica as one of their main influence/s. So I definately don't think they would have meant that cover as an insult.

metal_milita 01-30-2005 05:43 PM

I agree with Master Of Nebulah Frost, it does come across as an insult unless otherwise stated, which they didn't. Stop over-reacting munky_magik to anything anyone does. Nobody cares, and it doesn't make you cool or "EL33t" whatever it is.

Joe 01-30-2005 07:22 PM
so do i but this The ***OFFICIAL*** Metallica thread

so im gonna ask again did you guys hear about the metallica supported video game

http://www.metallicavault.com/game.php
thats pretty cool
yea i guess that true as long as the off-topic discussions are related some how to metallica like dream theater's MoP
well it's not that bad to go off topic a little bit every once and a while

for example for a while we were talking about rep and how im still like 500 away from getting stars

and im about to mention the post count in here once i get it

Joe 01-30-2005 07:24 PM
I just bought Load 2 hours ago. After listening to it I can say that it was worth it. I loved it more than Black album.

From the songs I haven't heard before(from Load), The House That Jack Built, 2 x 4 and The Outlaw Thorn are just great.

Three more CDs to complete my 'tallica collection:

Garage. Inc, Reload and S&M :p
Between S&M and Reload, I'd say get Reload.

Wow really? I'd go with S&M. S&M should have had some better songs, yes, but it's a hell of a lot better than Reload

metallicamaniac16 01-30-2005 08:11 PM
Man, I just got into Creeping Death. That song is awsome, best I've heard in a while. A lot of songs that aren't talked about a lot are great ie, Blackened, Dyers Eve, Creeping Death, Sanitarium etc.

Anesthesia isn't overrated IMO because not enough people even know about it. Its relativley hard considering its on a bass, but I play it on my guitar and it sounds wicked enough
I think Creeping Death is better on Live Sh*t. Just my humble opinion though. Btw, Dyers Eve kicks a$$!!!!!

metallicamaniac16 01-30-2005 08:15 PM

All things considered, S&M is a live album. So with that, Live Sh*t is better IMO, so when I want to listen to a live album, I listen to it a lot more than S&M. With that, I havent touched S&M in a long time. Besides, I think Reload is really underrated, but I've touched on that several pages back. ;)

Yes, Live Sh*t is a lot better. But I don't think reload is that great of an album.

So back to the guy that is going to get an album, get Live Sh*t > S&M

Just so you know, he was tryin to decide between gettin S&M, Garage Inc, and Reload.(not tryin to sound like a smart a$$) I couldnt comment on Garage Inc, cause I dont have it.

guitarcreep13 01-30-2005 08:46 PM

You guys are smart, how is:
"The Call of Ktutu" pronunced?
1.) The call of kuh-too-loo
or
2.) The call of too-loo
or something else.
I've been wondering this

cyberfret.com(lessons)

wholenote.com(lessons)

mxtabs.net

musicianforums.com ( to ask people questions that aren't explained on any other site)

taborama.com (best tab site IMO)

rockmagic.net(doesn't have that many tabs but they are all accurate)

musiciansfriend.com(save you money on guitar stuff but i would never buy a guitar or amp from the internet-just picks books etc.)

thats all i can think of for now, hope i helped :thumb:
