I've been digging various things recently, one of note, 24 Black Carat's [I]Ghetto: Misfortune's Wealth[/I]. It's some sort of crate digger type funk/soul stuff, more legendary for the samples ripped off it than for the actual quality of the music. Although I guess some people are kinda sprung off it. Anyways, the first couple tracks are kinda dull, all urbane with strings and whatnot. They don't do it for me for whatever reason. But there are some nice grooves tucked underneath. "24 Carat Black Theme" is especially good; it almost sounds like something off of [I]Ege Bamyasi[/I].

Pretty much every track on here is fantastic. "Bob Dylan's 115th Dream" and "Subterranean Homesick Blues" in particular are insanely fun.

I've been digging the Aspects of Physics album that pixiesfanyo gave me. It's like Boards of Canada but not boring.

i can't believe Apple sells "FM transmitters" and other docking gadgets that make iPods play in cars. my car is old enough to have a cassette jack, and i also have a cassette-shaped headphone jack thing that lets you play CD players or whatever through the speakers. i just plugged that thing into the iPod headphone jack and i have all my music for the long drive home :)

That's what I use too.

Strung Out are a good band. Seen them live 3 times in 5 years and they're always, a;ways good value. [I]Velvet Alley[/I] and [I]Your Worst mistake [/I]are 2 of my favourite ever songs.

I think I would like to see them live.

I've been listening to lots of Bill Hicks. Especially Rant in E-Minor and the I'm Sorry, Folks bootleg which is almost painful to listen to.

For a while they are super. But it wears off after 13 songs or so.

Eden Maine - To You The First Star

Kind of like the bastard child of Converge, A little bit of Post-Rock, and someone like Isis. Really good stuff if you're into hardcore, and the more interesting bands in it. So I recommend you guys check it out.

I'm really digging [i]everything[/i], because I have been reunited with my speakers, but in particular I am digging [i]Let It Die[/i] by Feist, which is a record you should all have. It has Zappa approval, so get it.

That's crazy, I was listening to those exact two albums just the other day! Love em both, but for wildly different reasons. Minus the Bear proves that cool kids can make great music as well (instead of just the artsy outcasts and long-haired dropouts). And I don't think I could ever get tired of trying to explain how [i]Calculating Infinity[/i] sounds, there are just so many ways to metaphorically describe the sheer chaos of that album.

I was that guy for a while, but now I can't find anyone who wants to listen to any music I might give them. :( The Feist album is fantastic.
