What F&J should I hear first?

Apocalyptic Raids 09-17-2005 10:05 PM

I second that.

lol at FM's avatar.

Not quite thrash, but I got Running Wild's Black Hand Inn from Neurooxin's Daily Upload thread. Fucing awesome stuff.

I'm listening to it now, and I agree... It's great. :)

Newer stuff or just in general?

Arise II 09-18-2005 05:01 AM

Most stuff off of their first few albums is kickass. Just check out Doomsday for the Deciever from '86, kickass through and through. Oh, and No Place For Disgrace is great too

metal-militia 09-18-2005 05:50 AM

No Place for Disgrace is great, all the best songs on it are ones that Newstead helped write.

RCA 09-18-2005 11:28 AM

New Deathchain album coming soon. Here are some samples from it:

http://www.deathchain.com/mp3/dyn013/Deathchain_NapalmSatan.mp3

Looks to be better than Deadmeat Disciples!

Arise II 09-18-2005 11:43 AM

ROFL, those are some SERIOUSLY clichée songtitles

But the songs rule.

MAthiAS 09-18-2005 12:30 PM

The vocals aren't really my favorite style, but the riffing is pretty sweet.

DimebagDarrell 09-18-2005 12:32 PM

"This CD is dedicated to our fans and all metal fans. This time around, I went right for the throat: 100 percent thrash metal with an attitude. No ballads. No breaks in the insanity. 'Schizo Deluxe' is what a lot of metal fans have been screaming at me to give them this time: brutal guitar riffs and solos, second-to-none musicianship and back-to-the-roots thrash/heavy metal metal songwriting."

thats what Jeff Waters has to say about the new annihilator album out soon. Personally i think there overrated sure the first 2 are great but the rest isnt especially all for you.

If Jeff is true to his word, that shouldn't have any bearing on this album.

Arise II 09-18-2005 02:31 PM

BTW, does anyone like/have heard Pissing Razors?

RCA 09-18-2005 02:53 PM
BTW, does anyone like/have heard Pissing Razors?
Eww, groove metal.

Arise II 09-18-2005 03:01 PM

So I take it you're not a Pantera fan either, eh?

Why the ell its called groove metal, I'll never understand. I can imagine COC's "Deliverancec" or White Zombie's "La Sexorcisto" being groovy, Pantera and Pissing Razors? I really don't see where the groove comes in

Haha, you can't hear the groove in Pantera? That's funny.

MAthiAS 09-18-2005 03:04 PM

Yeah really, its in every freakin song. The more I listen to Pantera, the more I feel like they're nu-metal with solos.

To quote the great wisdom that is Randal: Blasphemy!

ThrashMaster27 09-19-2005 01:18 AM

There's certainly a Nu-Metal feel on Reinventing The Steel. When a Nu-Metal fan comes into the room and goes "Man, is this Slipknot?" you know it's a bad thing. Still, I enjoy a lot of Pantera's music, so it's hardly a concern for myself.

I've also decided to make a blind purchase with that Gang Green double album. If it's anything like D.R.I. or Tankard, it can't be half bad.

Alright....so......My internet has had some really gay down time for the past week, but

I SAW OVERKILL

at the same place I saw Kreator a few months ago and Overkill fucking blew Kreator away. I was right in front of Bobby Blitz the whole time and got to meet him after the show. They had an awesome setlist full of classics such as

Rotten to the Core
Hello From the Gutter
Powersurge
Elimination

I can die happy now :D

Oh, I got a Horrorscope shirt at the show too. I've got one hell of a heavy metal hang over today

VeedBok 09-19-2005 05:08 PM

I finnally found and bough Fist Full of Metal, its an amazing thrash CD. It also came with Armed and Dangerous. And now I have the first 5 Anthrax Albums.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-19-2005 05:52 PM
