NJMetalMeister 06-26-2005 12:32 PM

I thought the joke from red dwarf was that i would have the IQ of 12 car park attendants. Could be wrong though, been a while since ive seen that episode

Lord Abortion 06-26-2005 12:59 PM
Iron Maiden : 10/10.
Best songs :

Revelations
Iron Maiden
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Number Of The Beast

During Iron Maiden, i moshed so hard with these French guys. Awesome crowd surfing.

Well red dwarf is one of my favorite shows, except for like season 7, while some of the episodes were okay, most of them were pretty crap, like especially the one where Rimmer leaves to become Ace Rimmer.

I hope the Red Dwarf movie actually happens though, like i know its written and what not, but if you go to the RD website there is no new information on it since like 2003.

At least it will have Norman Lovett as Holly, because basically he's fantastic

Lord Abortion 06-26-2005 01:07 PM

red dwarf IS my favourite show

have you read the books?

NJMetalMeister 06-26-2005 01:11 PM

No i have not, i keep meaning to pick them up but i always have something i actually have to do in real life, and it wont work out. But now that i have free time, im in germany, so i would have to order them from amazon, but im leaving in a month so they probably wont get here in time.

One of the first things i do when i get home though will be to buy them, along with a new pair of shoes because mine are falling apart, and shoe prices are just too expensive here in germany

Lord Abortion 06-26-2005 01:13 PM

my cousin lives in hannover I think, he's in the army, and lives there with his german fiance

the books are worth getting, much more in-depth scientifically, the areas of the backwards universe physics and the dimension jumps especially

Arucard 06-26-2005 01:17 PM

Well, once again, i win!

But yes, Within Temptation were an abysmal NightWish rip off, with two guitarists who did exactly the same as each other all the time. There were NO LEADS ATALL. And the singer though she was some kind of elf.

Arucard 06-26-2005 01:26 PM

Well, several reasons.

The music was soooo boring. So boring. It was just like 'Shred, sweeps, sweeps, solo, solo, solo.'
They were on for too long.
The songs were too long.
Just when you start getting into a song, it changes time signature, or just changes completly.
Their singer is so annoying. And overweight.
Petrucci. Don't even get me started.

The only song i could stand was 'As I Am.'

Not really I am not a fan of DT because of the singer. They are kinda fun to listen to but there is something about them ill give you that.

Silenius 06-26-2005 01:37 PM

The only thing I like about them are their keyboard and bass players.

Lord Abortion 06-26-2005 01:39 PM

I can't understand why people hate James LaBrie so much, he seems to be a great vocalist to me...

I lasted for about 30(?) hours.

I just can't get into that style of singing for some reason.

Lord Abortion 06-26-2005 01:43 PM

I don't think so, but, whatever... your opinion

Kingofdudes 06-26-2005 01:45 PM

I like Dream Theater, Labrie is great in some songs, and terrible in others. On a related note, I bought Liquid Tension Experiment the other day.

Thats the only thing about Petrucci that i can stand, mainly because its basically him admitting that he can only show off.

'6!66! The one for you and me!'

I disagree. Yes, he does do show off solos, but when he wants to he can do some very tasteful solos, and riffs. His solo at the end of Octavarium is incredable (not in a technical way).
