Lately I've been digging...

Soft Machine, Boris, Merzbow, Can, Einstürzende Neubauten, Tangerine Dream.

So basically I'm spacing out.

xizoesira 01-26-2006 05:20 PM

Hell, I've fallen asleep to technical death metal. The interesting kind, I mean.

Experimental and psychedelic music just turns me into a sloth man.

Glitterati 01-26-2006 05:38 PM

My avatar represents what I've been digging lately. I really need a full album by them.

Little Man being Erased 01-26-2006 07:12 PM

Some random songs at the moment.

The Ponys, Built to Spill, Cocteau Twins, Four Tet, Jaga Jazzist, Dead Meadow and Murder by Death.

I'll be looking into albums by all of those bands very soon.

NineBitFable 01-26-2006 07:24 PM

Daft Punk
Weezer - Pinkerton
Bardo Pond
I'd never been a big fan of weezer, (Only heard Blue album and Green) but wow, Pinkerton is really good. . . IMO much better than either of the other albums I've heard.

Tangy zizzle 01-26-2006 07:27 PM

The Drones - Wait Long by the River...

This has become top 5 since 2000 for me man. Good.

YDload 01-26-2006 07:29 PM
Chameleons - Script of the Bridge

I really love this. The production is amazing.
They're a pretty good band, though the only song I've heard of theirs is "The Fan and the Bellows."

Havn;t listened to that in too long. I'll do it now.

Little Man being Erased 01-26-2006 07:45 PM

Can you hook me up with some Dentists over soulseek, Nacho?

ATM 01-26-2006 07:47 PM

Yea, I'd like to hear that too.

ATM 01-26-2006 09:28 PM

I don't have slsk :-/

What about through YSI or AIM?

pixiesfanyo 01-26-2006 09:33 PM

Black Flag - Damaged
Gorilla Biscuits - Start Today

Yay, for '80s hardcore classics. Start Today was 90s or something wasn't it?

Oh, and I've been listening to Alkaline Trio's S/T but I didn't want to ruin my cred.

BillCosby 01-26-2006 09:41 PM
can do. What's your screenname?
are you gonna do it YSI? if so, could you please also send the link to tmv.is.for.me@gmail.com?

if not, it's no big deal. i don't need this album, just mildly interested.

Daniel! 01-26-2006 09:44 PM

Minutemen - What Makes a Man Start Fires? (my LP of it just came in the mail)
The Stooges - Fun House
Ghost Mice - A good live show I got from archive.org
Lots of Mischief Brew/Erik Petersen

Happymeal 01-26-2006 10:09 PM

Built to Spill - Keep it Like a Secret
Decemberists - Her Majesty

Lovely albums. I think I'm gonna include "Carry the Zero" and "The Bachelor and the Bride" in every mix I make from now on. And I'm starting to like that Decemberists release more than the other two.

ATM 01-26-2006 10:54 PM

ATM 01-27-2006 07:53 AM

The Elected are pretty cool.

br3ad_man 01-27-2006 08:29 AM

Hey Nacho could you send me some Dentists too?
More like aural crushing.
Yeah, but fun aural crushing.
You forgot the all important "this band sucks massive balls and thus they suck" statement thingy that I like tossing into the mix every so often. On a serious note, however; I think I will review albums from crap artists and post them on Sputniky. I could start with Stfu Steven's craptacular classic Illisucks.
Please please do this. It would make me smile.

theunknown 01-27-2006 12:11 PM

I'm digging Muse. I'v been listening to Absolution all day.
Also System of a Down, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I just might do it if the planets are positioned correctly in the sky.

of course.

did you listen to that Aspects of Physics yets?

BillCosby 01-27-2006 06:29 PM

And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - World's Apart

I never understood the big deal over Source Tags & Codes (not a bad album by any means, though), but so far I'm more impressed by this one.

Until now, I haven't had a chance. But now that it's now, I'm putting it onto my iTunes as we speak.

I've also been digging them this week.

I download Some Might Say, Champagne Supernova, and Wonderwall this week, I'm buying Morning Glory next time I go to the shop.

el doctor 01-27-2006 09:04 PM

I ate at the Hard Rock Cafe last night and when the video for "Champagne Supernova" came on, it made for a damn good seven and a half minutes of dinner.

Rodan - Rusty

I've had this one sitting on my hard drive for a while, but only recently have I really started to listen to it. It's an interesting mix of music. One minute you'll hear somethign equatable to some of the finer moments of Slint, while the next you'll be hit with an abrasive, punk inspired blast.
