Yeah both rule but I find it hard to imagine anyone thinking SBG is better musically. It's an improvement in every way.

Nostalgia 03-31-2008 10:01 PM

I guess I'm the only one on this forum who thinks Death and Dismember are mind numbingly boring.

Angmar 03-31-2008 10:03 PM

Yeah but you have bad taste so that's not surprising at all...

Tyler is going to punk you out at any moment for speaking unkindly about Dismember. And I hope you are the only one.

Tyler 03-31-2008 10:09 PM

What no I'm not

rattlehead42147 03-31-2008 10:13 PM

I know, but I half expected you to say something funny :D

yo Austin, that Enochian demo is really that good?

Txus 03-31-2008 10:29 PM

Austins taste blows

Nostalgia 03-31-2008 10:42 PM

Yeah it's pretty good. It's their first demo and at that time it was more death metal than it was anything else. The production is a tad on the warm and muffled side, but that's how I like my death metal for the most part (which explains my love for Slaughtered in the Arms of God).

cool. I haven't heard SITAOG, I've only taken the time to track down the Old Funeral demos. I should probably look into Amputation since the Old Funeral demos are so great. Do you think you might be able to send/link that enochian? I can't find it anywhere.

Nostalgia 03-31-2008 10:50 PM

I have it on tape, so I'm not sure how easily it'll be obtained online. I'll do some searching and if I find nothing I'll just rip it from my player.

SITAG has a warner, old school feel to it, and the other demo they released is much a trashier death than anything else - still not bad though. I'd look into either.

No, you're not, but my tastes are pretty crappy too, so meh.

FatalEnergy 03-31-2008 11:37 PM
my tastes are pretty crappy
O RLY?

Nostalgia 04-01-2008 12:11 AM

oh **** now im pooled in with bra

Obsequies 04-01-2008 12:11 AM
You should check out Imprecation for lulz if you haven't they're a complete Infester ripoff to my ears.
Yeah Imprecation's sound is definitely similar but I still like them. They're not amazing but they're good enough.

Edit:
Whatever, I just like Scream Bloody Gore more. I'm not much into that progressive ****. Pull The Plug is a really good song, though.
Leprosy isn't progressive. But yeah, SBG is better (if only slightly).

FatalEnergy 04-01-2008 01:08 AM
oh **** now im pooled in with bra
If you rip that demo, let me know.

Angmar 04-01-2008 01:10 AM
oh **** now im pooled in with bra
Guess your only choice in hopes of getting out of that pool is to start liking Death and Dismember. May I suggest Leprosy and Like an Ever Flowing Stream?

VomitStainedCretin 04-01-2008 02:46 AM

The only thing I dislike about Death is that the songwriting is somewhat formulaic at times. That aside, they were fantastic. Personally, I like both the old-school death and prog eras.

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 02:52 AM

Death owned the death metal scene. The Floridian one anyway.

Still, I think Cannibal Corpse are still miles ahead of most brutal death metal bands. The Time To Kill Is Now/Make Them Suffer/Death Walking Terror are all insanely brilliant tunes.

I've always sieg heiled ole' CC. They were awesome live too. And in Ace Ventura; Pet Detective. HAMMER SMASHED FACE!

FatalEnergy 04-01-2008 02:54 AM

Despite being called progressive for some reason, the last two Death albums were very formulaic and repetitive.

Personally I like Spiritual Healing the most, it seems everyone hates that album.

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 02:55 AM

I don't hate it. But tbf, I haven't heard it in its entirety. I enjoyed Individual Thought Patterns and Symbolic a lot though.

Angmar 04-01-2008 03:06 AM

Human will always be my favorite Death/death metal album. And I'm one of the people who also never saw much in Spiritual Healing... :-/

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 03:10 AM

lol at your avatar dude. Classic. Repped.

You're a large bundle of sticks.

i disagree with the first part, but SH is awesome. It used to be my favorite for the longest time, but I had to admit to myself I like Human a lot more.

FatalEnergy 04-01-2008 04:57 AM

The last two Death albums basically have a formula consisting of:

Intro, verse, chorus, verse, interlude, intro, verse, chorus.

It's boring.

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 05:46 AM
You're a large bundle of sticks.
Thanks for that. Nice of you. :(

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 05:52 AM

Me too.

I'm looking forward to whatever SikTh manage to come up with too. Such a shame Mikee and Justin decided to leave.

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 05:58 AM

Half of it seems half-assed. Opening two tracks slay, Sanguine Seas of Bigotry slays and final two tracks own.

The Trees Are Dead and Dried Out...blah blah blah was just amazing. Scent of the Obscene is great fun to play on guitar too.

rasputin 04-01-2008 06:52 AM

dude stop posting your stupid bands myspace in every thread. gtfo

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 06:58 AM

Its probably not even a real account tbh. Looks like advertising.

rasputin 04-01-2008 07:00 AM

go and actually listen to the song, it's horrible,

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 07:01 AM

lol I won't waste my time tbf. I've got Pink Floyd (awww niiiice).

rasputin 04-01-2008 07:08 AM

:D Which album?

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 07:11 AM

Dark Side of the Moon :)

Although I prefer Wish You Were Here and Animals. But atm, gotta make do with what I got. Now I've switched to Alaska by Between the Bloody Brilliant Buried and Moi! Niiice.

rasputin 04-01-2008 07:17 AM

mm Animals is my absolute favourite Pink Floyd album, one of my all time favourites actually. One of my very few precious 5s *hugs them*

yo Austin, that Enochian demo is really that good?
Enochian is pretty elite, I was surprised.

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 07:22 AM

Isn't Enochian the language of angels?

That's 100% true. But yeah the form is boring, but the parts ****ing own.

First Death song I heard was Painkiller.

RetiredAt21 04-01-2008 07:26 AM
Isn't Enochian the language of angels?
Don't know don't care.

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 07:27 AM

Fair enough.

In response to the Death thing; I've never found them to be formulaic. But perhaps structured.
