I got Death on the Road DVD yesterday.

Boy, Janick Gers has got to be my favourite Iron Maiden live.

Sorry if someone asked this before.. but I kinda don't feel like going trough 537 pages ;)

So.. On their visit here in Goethenburg they announced that they are working on a new album..
Whats going on with it now? :P

They are supposed to start working on it in the next few months with a release date near the end of this year.

And a tour to follow its release :P 2:1 ash :P (havn't said that for ages)

they better tour after it and i better see them .....

heh, i'll hopefully be seeing them for the 3rd time on their next tour. my little brother wants to go as well, he'll be 12 when they tour again. they tend to play newcastle on all their album tours and it was fairly full there in '03, so they should play there again.

Ill probably end up missing them :(

Yeah, somebody mentioned a couple of pages back about DOTR downtuning Lord of the flies... you can really tell. I love the opening riff to bits because of that, much better than the studio version, which is pretty weak, like Man on the edge, one of my least favourites on the brilliant X-Factor.

I think they just played it in a different key...Maiden can't detune, I mean it's blasphemy!

i don't think they changed guitars at all that tour, i didn't notice it anyway.

i noticed Janick had a change, but as far as i know Dave and H keot the same guitars.

Janick always switches between his two Strats, I think one's only a Mexican strat, with fancy pickups, which would've cost about half the price of Daves original strat :p

I think it's way cool that Dave and Janick play strats. It's not just for blues players you know, and guys like Dave, Janick, Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie Malmsteen have proven that.

Fender is amazing for everything.

I don't really see the difference (note the fact I haven't played those many guitars either) of using "more metal" guitars over Fenders, which are usually thought for Rock.

Yngwie Malmsteen manages to get a good metal tone out of single coils.

I own one maiden CD. Well, owned. My uncle came by when he was drunk and stole it.

It was the Edward The Great CD.
