Always plugging your band, Nacho.

Sam 06-14-2006 05:46 PM

What gay instrument do you play in your gay band?

Sam 06-14-2006 05:48 PM

Cool. I'm listening to the youtube shit, since I don't believe in myspace. It's pretty far out.

pppoe 06-14-2006 06:21 PM

You need new guitarists and a new band. But seriously. The guitarists are awful. The singer blows. The bassist is sitting down.

Come on, Chez.

Sam 06-14-2006 06:22 PM

Since we're on the topic:

Cool local band:

pppoe 06-14-2006 06:23 PM

I'll check our your band, Sam.

sr800bkBassist 06-14-2006 06:24 PM

c'mon, nobody has any commentary on my huge post of links? i spent forever doing that. pfft.

Little Man being Erased 06-14-2006 06:27 PM

Talking Heads - Remain in Light

Easily one of the best albums ever recorded.

sr800bkBassist 06-14-2006 06:27 PM
I'm gonna get to some of those actually, they look interesting.
you're one of the few white people i don't hate :).

pppoe 06-14-2006 06:28 PM
The bassist's strap broke. Plus we replaced the singer.

Either way we sound better than Beulah.
If Nate Kinsella tried to emulate his brothers and write a record after being severely brain damaged, it would sound like Tiger and Crane.
That could be the coolest album of all time. At least far better than the boring overdone bombastic cutesy shit of the Starlight Mints or Of Montreal or whatever other crap you like.
O toni ur so gud at musik.

There's no need for foul language.

Sam 06-14-2006 06:54 PM

"This is an original song...that I wrote."

Good stuff.

ZING!

Tangy zizzle 06-14-2006 07:13 PM
Because he likes some things that you like - he's allowed to bash other bands? What the fuck is this? Let's not fall further into indie clichés where the bands you enjoy equal the quality of your opinion. I'm not sure how we can value his opinion when his criticisms offer no clarity and consist of juvenile insults. C'mon, he had a "Ben Gibbard is a fag" thread...
My fault, I guess it wasn't obvious with my comment...

I was joking. Making light in a jocular fashion.

He listed a bunch of bands that are either fake/fashionably (unfashionably) underground/too mediocre to bother with. How would I possibly show anything but antipathy to a list like this?

Must admit I'm a little dissapoiinted asymm.

pixiesfanyo 06-14-2006 07:17 PM

Tangy I knew you were joking.

Well. I was pretty sure.

Tangy zizzle 06-14-2006 07:22 PM

Good to know.

Whats new Comets like? Same/less/more weird?

pixiesfanyo 06-14-2006 07:29 PM

Blue Cathedral + Blues - Noise.

Check it out though. They still rock like a stoning.

cb240 06-14-2006 07:36 PM

The Cakekitchen - The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

hahaha. what the hell dude

departures and landfalls today

ATM 06-14-2006 08:08 PM

Nile-Annhilation of the Wicked

Seriously.

Zebra 06-14-2006 08:11 PM

No Doubt - s/t

This is way better then Tragic Kingdom.

Tangy zizzle 06-14-2006 08:13 PM

eeeeeew Nile. Even during the metal years I couldn't stand them.

Diggage today:

Icarus line - Mono (If this wasn't so um "far out" at times it'd be great)
Bruce Springsteen - Greetings from asbury park
The Cramps - Psychadelic Jungle
Betchadupa - Aiming at your head

ATM 06-14-2006 08:18 PM

Haha I have no idea why I like this, its just different then what I normally listen to.

pixiesfanyo 06-14-2006 08:19 PM

Agalloch - The Mantle
American Football - American Football

The Mantle sounds kind of like Opeth done okay.

Tangy zizzle 06-14-2006 08:20 PM

...so still shitty right?

ATM 06-14-2006 08:20 PM

Is the Mantle better then Pale Folklore?

pixiesfanyo 06-14-2006 08:23 PM
...so still shitty right?
Yeah. It isn't that great.

Tangy zizzle 06-14-2006 08:25 PM

I was kidding, kinda. I can handle Agalloch and I'm quite fond of a few Opeth songs.

pixiesfanyo 06-14-2006 08:31 PM

I hate Opeth. And I'm only half way through my first listen of the Mantle.

It reminds me of every other metal album I've heard.

The ****ty production ruins it.
Must admit I'm a little dissapoiinted asymm.
Ah, well. Disappointed is a difficult word to spell. And I did not recognize your humor. Next time, though.

Today...
Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
Goldmund - Corduroy Road
The Cure - Pornography

Little Man being Erased 06-14-2006 08:34 PM

So Tangy, what Springsteen album should I get next?

I was thinking about picking up Devils & Dust because I can get it for 10 bucks. And I've heard it before and enjoyed it.

Should go like this; Greetings from Asbury Park, Born to Run, Nebraska, The Wild the Innocent & the E street Shuffle, Darkness at the Edge of Town.

Havn't heard the Devils & Dust, so yeah whatever.

It's ok, though I'm not a big Springsteen guy (clearly, since I couldn't even spell his name right). The packaging really pisses me off.

Fall Out Boy - From Under the Cork Tree
