Cool.
I really like Jonah Hill, not Russell Brand so much, but he can be all right. I don't really have high expectations for the movie, but I'll probably catch it at some point when it's on DVD. However, there's this new movie with Jonah Hill and John C. Reilly that just looks fantastic. Looks like a super dark comedy. It's called Cyrus. Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0G0bYpMQ-fI |
Even if Russel Brandt isn't your favorite, P-Diddy more than makes up for it. Plus, there's a set of boobies! Bonus!
Cyrus looked pretty good. I'll definitely be checking it out. There's also a new movie with Jason Statham, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, and Ah-nold Schwarzenegger that sounds interesting, if only for the cast alone. |
Quit acting like I don't know about The Expendables. I've been waiting on this movie for about two years now.

The Expendables is my favorite ska band. |
I don't like ska bands. That music generally doesn't appeal to me.
|
They're actually reggae. They usually play with a lot of ska bands, so I just kind of lump them in there.

today, i really smell after being at work. and i have no deodorant. but i don't want to take a second shower. ah, my life is full of misery :(
|
Stop buying 4-string basses and buy deodorant.
|
how do i get MM stingray tone without spending like $1700
|
You could have spent $700 and purchased mine, but you're about a week too late.
What bass do you have? If it's got a humbucker of any kind in the bridge, solo the bridge pickup. There are a million variations of a Stingray tone, so you'd have to be more specific. They generally sound very scooped to my ears, so boosting your low bass and presence/treble on your amp will probably help. |
Woooo.
Just did a bunch of cleaning around my house and took a shower after getting all dirty. Feelin' fine. |

Pretty much - Paying for the bass left me with less than £10 in my account, so I didn't have enough to draw a tenner out for small purchases :( |
Wait, your ATMs allow you to withdraw money in increments of 10?!
|
Yes because our currency is actually valuable.
Used to do fivers as well. I know a couple of machines that still do fives if you know how adtually. |
Even when the value of the dollar was higher, $20 was still the minimum. It's been the minimum since well before I was born.
|
I'm officially 21 today - be nice to me and get me an interstellar overdrive.
|
Yes, but when the value of the dollar was higher, it was still never as valuable as the pound. So long story short.. sucks to be american? :p
|
America sucks, but I got my new dresser in, so I can ignore America for the time being. I'll be setting up my full stack tonight. My 10-space rack case comes in tomorrow, so I'll transport everything into there, and have a permanent setup for my house. Finally!
|
so the new starsmog song is like drone ambient + upbeat swing dark polka.
|
Damn. My Hipshot Ultralites came in for my Spector, and I bought the wrong size.
|
Lame :(.
I had a lucky week of shifts at work and bagged about 40 hours, so I think I can have my new gig bag sooner than I thought :). |

Btw, happy belated birthday. Here's a link to a thread from last year that has pictures of your interstellar overdrive. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=547783 Do you like SWR's bass gear? I tried a few of their combos, and they didn't impress me all that much. |

I'm a casual worker, I do like, stocking shelves/various backstage kinda jobs at a supermarket. It's my real job outside of teaching bass/guitar.
|
whoo! My 10-space is all set up and my pedalboard is sitting in front of it. It's my bedroom rig. :)

Don't your cabs need space at the back to be like plugged in?
|
Hehe.
That's the most excessive bedroom rig I've ever seen, short of that guy who turned his apartment into the bridge of the starship Enterprise. |

The angle is misleading - there's about 3 or 4 inches of room behind it all. |
That's so excessive. :/
|
I normally gig with it, but because I've been playing smaller 3-pc blues-style gigs, I'm using a small half stack while saving for my Avatar 2x12. My parents have been giving me **** about getting my gear out of their house, so I made room to put it in my house.
