pop punk is repetitive.

Blink certainly are and they only really use powerchords and simple riffs too.
I think Dookie is THE most over rated album of all time.. I know what I just said probably just f*cked off the whole entire pop/punk board, but I just dont see why its rated so highly... Alot of the songs sound the same, hardly any cool guitar riffs or anything, a few good bass riffs here and there and thats about it... Just powerchords and Billy Joe's voice over them (which IMO is a pretty dull voice to listen to for a whole album) Nothing too special (I know pretty much all punk related music is powerchords, but I find Dookie too repetative in style and structure) I am pretty biased though, as I love Blink and don't really like Green Day... Dont get me wrong, Dookie is a solid album, but it never comes close to being the 2nd greatest punk album of all time which I read somewhere the other week.
Yeah... Dookie got me into Pop-Punk, and I'd quite seriously say I agree that it's one of the best pop-punk albums ever. Own opinions though I guess.
Dookie is a phenomenal album, even if their following album isn't that great.
 Heathen! Insomniac ftw! /slap

skateMASTERbater2 01-21-2007 02:25 AM

I don't like Green Day at all. Never really liked Billy Joes voice. I enjoy blink once in a while though

Bad Blood 01-21-2007 05:08 AM

blink > greenday

Im thinking about getting a tattoo. Like i think it would be sort of cool as they have "raised" me and i grew up wanting to be like them.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/dude_sweet99/Tat.jpg

Like? Im thinking somthing small as on my wrist?

bottlerocket 01-21-2007 08:19 AM

That would be pretty cool but not on your wrist.

Maybe your shoulder or arm or something.

Ross 01-21-2007 02:32 PM

Forehead!

Untitled 01-21-2007 02:35 PM

Meh, i wouldn't get a tattoo of a band or something, expect my very subtle one im getting one day, muhahahaha.

Ross 01-21-2007 02:42 PM

Didn't you want a Star Wars symbol or something? (excuse my lack of knowledge)

http://www.csulb.edu/~mdion/images/SublimeSun.gif

Over my left hip/around to the front of my stomach. So it looks like it's rising out of my trousers when I got my shirt off :D

It's gonna happen one day <_<

Untitled 01-21-2007 02:44 PM

Oh yeah, i forgot about that one, lol.

A band is really the only thing I could get a Tattoo of. I want it to mean somthing. And ino i will never wake up hating blink 182. Not like if you got a gf name or some lame pre designed one in the shop.

You wont wake up hating Blink182 maybe, but you will proberly grow out of them, and be like "wtf..."

lunchforthesky 01-21-2007 06:21 PM

You honestly think you'll still listen to Blink when your 50 and it will still mean something?

Thats a pretty big risk.

Yeah..Ignore him, he's not the smartest guy on here.

No offence to you mate, but you're dead wrong. I can safely say that 50 years from now a band a simple as Blink-182 won't have an affect on anyone, probably not even Tom, Mark or Travis...Ok well maybe them..<_<

lunchforthesky 01-21-2007 06:39 PM

Tom will still listen to AVA when he's 90, fact.

Surtr 01-21-2007 06:45 PM

Hahaha yeah.

Lyrics are something I don't think I'd mind tattoo'd onto me.

For example the line..

"She's All I Need, She's All I Dream, She's All I'm Always Wanting.."

It's from "All Of This" - Blink 182, and I can say that I wouldnt' mind that tattoo'd onto my arm. It's a much less "known" Blink song, so if someone saw it, it's not "Omg, you listen to Blink?" right away. It's subtle enough for it not to be immediatly associated with the band, but it still has meaning behind it.

lunchforthesky 01-21-2007 06:47 PM

I wouldnt really want a tatoo. It would be cool sometimes but looks s'hit when your old and is kind inappropriate at time.

Pazz 01-21-2007 06:51 PM

I would like a tattoo, but a song lyric would be pretty big.

Yeh thats a pretty awsome lyric. Also it could be used for every gf. lol

poo-poo-pee-pee 01-21-2007 08:00 PM

I wanna get a really subtle '182' on my body somewhere. Maybe hand, arm, shoulder, leg. Something like that, just small.
Blink have been my favourite band since I started listening to music. (Other than the Wiggles, they rocked.)
And I can't see myself ever getting sick of them. I can immagine myself growing out of them, and not listening to them everyday as I do now, but there will never be a time when I would turn off a blink song if it came on the radio/TV/Ipod.
Come to the of it, I wouldn't mind a Wiggles tatto somewhere too...
That'd be so hardcore.

MattSharpIsCool 01-21-2007 11:47 PM

Tattoos are lame.

lunchforthesky 01-22-2007 07:25 AM

Tatoos on Women = Most unnatractive thing ever!

Neoteric 01-22-2007 07:27 AM

Oh god yes.

bottlerocket 01-22-2007 07:44 AM
Tatoos on Women = Most unnatractive thing ever!
No way.

A tattoo on the inner thigh, top of the hips, or on their lower back can be SOOOOO HOT if done correctly.

Ross 01-22-2007 07:50 AM

Yeah, tattoos on girls are hot if they're done right.

On girls they usually have to be small, and cute. Some flowers maybe, that kinda thing. Dragons/demons are a serious bad idea.

lunchforthesky 01-22-2007 09:29 AM

Eww i cant stand them, they always look really tacky or just manly.
