Iron Man 01-30-2005 12:07 PM
What the...when did Tony post? was he a member here?
He posted like 3 times last night in the death heads thread

Fenrisulfr 01-30-2005 12:08 PM

Wow!! but is it really him?

Ramsey 01-30-2005 12:09 PM

I believe him for one reason: If he was a gimmick poster, his SN would be Tony Choy or something else gimmicky. But his SN was simply bassman1927819 or something. Thats just awesome, its Tony acting natural.

It was just "bassman", and that's pretty awesome, since I just got Focus and I love it.

Fenrisulfr 01-30-2005 12:12 PM

Woooo...that's pretty awesome!

BludgeonySteve 01-30-2005 12:13 PM

Superpeer, is there any way for me to get the numbers taken off the end of my user name? I know Badmoon did it or something.

Nice...

I would love to find DmDs in the stores, same with any Arcturus album.

And also I find it hard to believe it was Tony Choy, might have, might have not, who knows. He could have stumbled across this site, seen the death heads thread or some one he knows could go to this site and told him about the thread or something.

Badmoon did it in the Parole thread in the Pit. DBJ was feelin' generous.

So I don't know if you can, I would imagine Superqueer would be able to hook you up.

I'm pretty sure DBJ can do it if you ask him.

Ask Double Bass Jim. :thumb: He's the only one that can change it. Well, apart from mx.

I had never seen it in the stores either, I had to travel an hour by bus to visit this really big metal store.

BoboTheRagingHobo 01-30-2005 12:39 PM

There is a big record store in downtown Portland here, but they don't have that much foriegn metal. And when they do have good stuff, it is like 20 - 25 dollars for an album.

Hell, they don't even have any Agalloch or Velvet Cacoon, which are local bands that made it to a fairly big record labels.

Silenius 01-30-2005 12:47 PM

There's no record stores in my town. I have to go to Sacremento to get CDs. :(

Distant Echoes 01-30-2005 12:51 PM

I dont have a music store around here for over 10 miles. We live in frikkin farm country, i swear to god. Their building what seems like 4 houses a minute but no stores even walking distance, unless you want to take 2 hours out of your day for a wawa

Dancin' Man 01-30-2005 12:52 PM

I can buy hippy music in my town. Until somewhere with the CDs I want opens, Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com

I have to drive about 50 miles to get to this record store. I seriously live in the mountains, in a forest, that is a good 45-50 miles away from Portland. So ya, its not like its a 10 minute drive heh.

BludgeonySteve 01-30-2005 12:54 PM

I have a used cd store, a music world and a future shop near me. That's good enough.

Silenius 01-30-2005 12:54 PM

Yeah, I gotta drive 30 miles, it sucks.

munky_magik 01-30-2005 12:55 PM

I've got mediocre shops 5 mins from me, and much better shops a train ride away.

Silenius 01-30-2005 12:57 PM

Germany is where all the good shops are at. Burzum cds are 10$ in most German stores as opposed to 30$ here.

lunch998 01-30-2005 01:00 PM

I live in a town/city so there are CD shops near me.

Bartender 01-30-2005 01:12 PM
I find it hard to believe actually. :-/
I choose to believe it's him. Just because, why not? Unless he starts offering supposed rare things for sale or something, it's doing no harm to have him posting here, and it's cool to think that he is.

Bartender 01-30-2005 01:13 PM
I had never seen it in the stores either, I had to travel an hour by bus to visit this really big metal store.
Ah, you finally visited it :) Was it as good as it looked?

No really cool stores near here either, though I did just make a reasonably big order from Amazon.

Silenius 01-30-2005 01:14 PM

What'd you get?

Bartender 01-30-2005 01:18 PM

Secret.

It all came c.£200 though, but that includes a couple of political philosophy textbooks and a CD and a DVD for my flatmate.

Humor99 01-30-2005 01:18 PM
Eh, same here.

But I find it funny, the pit and the rats included seem to think it's their own personal site to spam on with mostly pointless crap.

The majority of them do not play a insturment, or participate in other forums other then the one where they can pretty much spam pointless stuff all day long.
So why don't they all make their own forum and leave, because they do nothing for this forum for the most part.

So whats the point of being at a musicians forum, when you participate in nothing musicial at all?
Sorry to bring this all back up but:

I'm one of the top 15 reviewers on the site, I post in here from time to time, politics from time to time, and the other sports/games forums from time to time. I play guitar and I visit the Guitar forum as well, although usually not to post. I also critique and contibute to the Song & Lyrics forum.

So please refrain from saying I do nothing for this site in the future. You guys have a new brand of elitism if you think you're better simply because your forum of choice is R&M, so the rest of you can stop being so condescending of the people who post in the Pit until you're not like that yourselves.

And Ken, quit being a crybaby, thanks.

Were they CDs though?

Bartender 01-30-2005 01:20 PM

The stuff I bought? Yes, all CDs.

Silenius 01-30-2005 01:21 PM
The stuff I bought? Yes, all CDs.
So you bought some "secret" CDs, I see.

Bartender 01-30-2005 01:24 PM

Yes, secret CDs. Secret for two reasons, firstly because some of the might not arrive, and then everyone would think I have CDs that I don't, and also because I can't remember all of them.

I also understand people like you do stuff outside of the pit, and you help out alot with problems with the site, I respect that alot. But I never said every one did nothing in the pit, I said most or the majority of people, so I never really said
you did nothing.

And I can have my own opinion of the pit, and I think it sucks along with majority of its users.
