To keep this topical, what odds would you give me for the word "Penguin" being somewhere in the lyrics of Iron Maiden's next album?

1 - 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
So if I bet you a tenner, you have to give me £10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 if it is on there?

I'll take that bet :)

twaz cragmaidens idea :D

uber, perhaps it would be a good idea to send the drums to 1 person, and when they have added they're part, they can send it to the next person, so it wont be confusing to mix :p

I don't think we should do that, first person to mix it, all the levels will be off and unless you want to be sending huge mix files across the net (I use Cool Edit Pro, so I don't know if that's compatible with Audacity).

I thought we were doing the Trooper? the Drums I got are for HBTN

andyhainey 09-29-2005 09:58 AM

yeah, we're doin trooper then blood brothers then ATSS

Perhaps. I can handle it so long as I know what parts I'm mixing.

Incidentally, Chris doesn't want to do an internet recording project (he thought it was a live project when I asked) because he's recording for four bands already...anyone else want to do drums?

ashman 09-29-2005 01:15 PM

We could MIDI the drums or summat like that.

If I was mixing, I'd split up the tracks this way;

Ash Solo
Ash Rhythm
Ash Acoustic (if needed)
Crag Solo
Crag Rhythm
Crag Acoustic (if needed)
Andy Solo
Andy Rhythm
Andy Acoustic (if needed)
Creeping Deth Bass
Creeping Deth Acoustic (if needed)
Drums
Vocals

If we were gonna be fancy, we could split the drums up into two tracks; Left and Right, it's hard, but it's cool. Those are all the tracks that I could think of, there might be more if we want synths .etc

EDIT: Ollie for R&Mer of the month :thumb:

Hi, I'm a big Maiden fan, I hav all of their studio albums apart from their self titled. My favourites are Powerslave and Brave New World. I love the feeling of Powerslave, I'm not sure what it is about that album but it's awsome. I also love Brave New World for its somewhat progressive style.

Ollie (Lord Abortion) could probably drum, but i don't think he has any recording equipment.

I think it's among the few songs that could be considered to have the title of Best Metal Song Ever.

ashman 09-29-2005 03:15 PM

That's cool...there's quite a few Sabbath Songs there too...

Josh 09-29-2005 03:16 PM

Sabbath ++

i have a lot of those songs on my computer.

Huber 09-29-2005 03:17 PM

Yeah, I think there was too many myself. I have the feeling tons of people voted for there songs just because they may have been the first band with the metal sound, which doesn't meant the quality of the bands or there songs is any better than any other bands'.

That list is biased in favor of songs that are good.

That site has the best lists I've ever seen. Check out their "Top 100 Rock/Metal sings" list, because our very own R&M forum will have a competition of its own soon. Vote Dickinson/Di'Anno when the time comes (nominations aren't up yet so don't get upset)!

ashman 09-29-2005 03:27 PM

That list is one of the best I've seen tbh. Lots of good metal songs, instead of the watered pansy 'Metallica pwnz j00' type list...

Josh 09-29-2005 03:30 PM

the Metallica that was on that list was good stuff though.

ashman 09-29-2005 03:36 PM

Yeah, those were the good songs, not the Black album crap...

I'm not really sure about 'Hallowed by thy name' as number one, It's good and all, but number one, really?

Lord Abortion 09-30-2005 06:50 AM

I'm sorry, I have no recording equipment for drums...:(

Anyway, hopefully BLAZE-as live as it gets is going to be appearing through the post soon, It's gonna be awesome!

I saw Nicko at a drum clinic yesterday. It was ****ing amazing, he's such a funny guy.
And he made the statement:
"Screw Sharon Osbourne where the sun don't shine!"
