Dr. Jake Destructo 06-11-2005 02:12 PM

For those of you somewhat advanced in the knowledge of theory, what would you call this tuning?

C G D G B E

TheDMV 06-11-2005 02:15 PM

^I thought you just called tunungs like DADGAD or EADG. I guess you could say however many steps down it is though. I am by no means a theory expert.

Drop the last 2 strings down a step. :p

Kage 06-11-2005 02:17 PM

I think it would just be Drop C/G

MAthiAS 06-11-2005 02:22 PM
Do you already have your 'band' on there? If not, you need to fill out this seperate deal within your account for your band.

Where would I find that?

Jom 06-11-2005 02:24 PM

The first two strings are Drop C, but the remaining four are standard? Odd tuning. But yeah, Kage would be right.

I imagine you can get some cool voicings on chords with that tuning, but probably overly bassy.

In other news - wrote an awesome song yesterday at band mates house. Seems as though we're even going to add a cello part (he is an excellent cellist and his brother (am my mom. Actually, my sister is a better cellist that he is but she's 25 and in Germany) plays violin so we could add that in too)

It's disgusting here. 92 degrees and super humid. I also have nothing to do. My girlfriend invited me to go somewhere but it's like 45 minutes form my house and I'm running my car on fumes so I had to turn her down.

Isn't that the tuning for Soundgarden's "Fourth of July?" It's an awesome song, really heavy too.

The second parentheses confused me.

Arucard 06-11-2005 02:39 PM

You mean the part with the brackets that lead no where?

Dancin' Man 06-11-2005 02:40 PM

Yes. I am feeling illiterate today and will blame the heat.

That's because you're supposed to put (blah[blah{blah}]) if you put another thought within a side thought.

Arucard 06-11-2005 02:43 PM

I wrote a good song today. It was called Jarayai and the Wonderful World of Him Kicking Eleventeen's Butt with Resengan.

I wrote a good song today as well, it's called, STFU Naruto Is Gay, Go Back To Watching Gundam Like A Real Man.

Endless Obsession 06-11-2005 02:58 PM

I wrote a song today called "Guys stop arguing, its not cool".

Gundam Wing is for children, hence the ridiculously easy to follow storyline and seemingly invincible Gundams. Its basiccaly Dragonball Z with robots, and with slightly more credibility. I still accept it as the series that got me into Manga though. Evangelion is soooo much better.

Uhhhhh.... you're kidding right? Naruto actually is a children's show in Japan, Gundam Wing is an adult series in Japan, and the story line involves a lot of hidden symbolism. Lots of the GW storyline was ruined in the English Translation.

Gundam Wing is the least adult Gundam to date hence :

Little Blood
No real violence
Annoying characters
Releena Peacecraft, common!

Uhhhhh....... dude, G-Gundam, that is the childish one, and note to you, how is genocide not real violence?
Uhhhh....you're kidding right?
I kid you not. Naruto is targetted at a younger audience than most Anime, the range of around 10-14.

Yeah, it sounds pretty cool. If you play a barred powerchord like that, it sounds real 'airy' almost. I got the idea from Ticks& Leeches, actually. The middle section uses a chord similair in structure to this tuning.

i am the robots 06-11-2005 03:49 PM

That actually is a very cool chord from Ticks & Leeches.

Well, this sucks. The Cubs are playing the Red Sox in interleague play this weekend and because the Red Sox are me and my stepdad's team and the Cubs are my mom's team, bragging rights are on the line here.
Friday 6/9: Cubs 14, Red Sox 6
Saturday 6/10: Cubs 7, Red Sox 6

:(

Well, me and him started doing a "1908!" chant.

(and my gf? She's an A's fan, so her opinion doesn't matter)

EDIT: DM, I feel for you...it's like, 90 and humid here.

Dancin' Man 06-11-2005 04:45 PM

C'mon Sox! Did you ehar Babe Ruth's contract to the Yankees from Red Sox is being auctioned off? They expect to pull aorun $500, 000 for charity. Cursed document.

Arucard 06-11-2005 05:03 PM

Illmatic 06-11-2005 05:05 PM
