Meh I wish I could sing but...I'm not too good at it. I sometimes will sing along to something, not very good but its OK, then my voice cracks and I shut up :p
|
The only thing i can do vocal-wise is the high pitched raspy thing.
Like BDM, I suck at low pitched growls EDIT: Sorry gotta rephrase that, i make it look like i said BDM sucks at low growls. I can do highpitched screams like BDM, there lol |

I have a range of about two octaves before i get into my falsetto. (Which I can't control at all.) I'm no good at agressive vocals and I find Mikael's clean vocals to suite my voice (Especially on Damnation, though they're still not great). My growling is inomprehendable. Terrible. |
I don't have a menacing voice.. whenever i try it like all falls apart. I only soing along to clean parts.
I should sing along more though... |

I have about two octaves before my falsetto and I can growl pretty well. Death metal growls are the easiest for me though I can do a pretty good mid-range scream. I have a jazz type singing voice kind of like Mark Murphy's but not quite as good as him obviously. Another vocalist I sing like, whom more of you might know, is Gavin from dredg.

I can growl pretty well, I can do midrange vocals to an extent, but I don't have a good-sounding scream at all. I was born with great control over falsetto, though.
|
Going to see opeth in four hours!!!!:)
|
My falsetto's pretty good, and the midrange vocals are pretty decent, as well. Especially the higher ones and my deep, boomy singing (has no clue whatsoever of the name). My scream, on the other hand is terrible, and the growls tend to vary from day to day. They probably don't, really, I'm guessing that my perception of my growls vary... or something.
|
I can't scream, but I can growl. And rather well, I think...
|
I can do a Phlegton style growl. It's very easy and sounds great when I cup my hand around the mic.
Now that I have every Opeth album, I can't believe I didn't like Still Life and Deliverance before. I now know this band has never released a bad album. |

Where you at? me to dude! |
3 1/2 hours now guys. Can't wait.
|
Still Life I'm still attempting to get into, but Deliverance i adore. Some great material on there...
Master's Apprentices and By The Pain I See In Others = \m/ worthy. |
Edmonton man. I'm going to the mall real soon to see if they might be walking around.

Master's Apprentices and By The Pain I See In Others = \m/ worthy.
I like the backward-going solo that's played and other lead-guitar things, but overall it feels like... a song from the first couple albumns... you know, the riffs aren't all very tight together... but I still like that song a lot. Anyway, I don't know excatly how many octaves I can sing to, but I suppose they aren't many. I can growl at times, but after too much growling, it just fades and sounds godawful. I don't have a very high pitch, either. I think bass or something like that. yeah. |
I have a voice where I can do the low stuff Dani Filth does without a pitchshifter, and a falsetto where I can sing I Believe In A Thing Called Love (the chorus) on key and on octave, but no midrange. It blows. :amaze:
|
I have that exact same thing, except I have an adequate midrange. I can sing Mikael's clean parts when he doesn't go extremely high. It does pay to come from a family of singers, only I wish I was as good as my parents. :(
|
I mean, I can hit most stuff on pitch (usually...at least, I think I can) but I don't have a powerful voice at all. It kinda sucks, as I'm a huge guy...

Master's Apprentices and By The Pain I See In Others = \m/ worthy.
The best parts of the album Deliverance for me are Mike's amazing guitar solos. Some of his best licks on there. |

Didn't you just have 2 Opeth abums yesterday ? Oh well... NP Blind Guardian - Bards Song In the Forest live
I mean, I can hit most stuff on pitch (usually...at least, I think I can) but I don't have a powerful voice at all. I can pull of Dark Tranquillity style vocals as well as the less intense growls (The Moor and stuff) decently. My clean voice isn't anything to write home about though.

Does anyone have Opeth's version of Iron Maiden's Remember Tomorrow that they could upload and send to my email?
junkiesandwhores@hotmail.com I would love you so much if someone could do that for me, I don't have it here on my computer at University, and I have a huge craving to hear it. |

Yeah, the worst part about my singing voice is how weak it sounds. It's pretty nasal and thin. I can sing in pitch though. I'll send you Remember Tomorrow, Shadius. Whoops, never mind. |

I'll send you Remember Tomorrow, Shadius. Whoops, never mind.
Get vocal lessons. It'll help your tone, pitch control and range and singing in general along with making your voice stronger. Anyone can benefit from vocal lessons. |

I'll send you Remember Tomorrow, Shadius. Whoops, never mind.
try to sing from your gut, and lift your soft pallet when you singing. It will create a thick and more heady tone. Trying to sing in an operatic tone will help you trying to get a fuller tone. |
