/hides under a desk while listening to Journey.

Anyways, I have nothing more to contribute other than the fact that I sampled some of the new Nuclear Assault stuff on their MySpace page.

I didn't really like it except for Long Haired *******. :upset:

I remember liking 3 songs, though I can't remember what their names were.
I remember liking 3 songs, though I can't remember what their names were.
Doh!

I just realized how I've been feeling the urge to go back and play my guitar again. I haven't had time with all this frustration with myself but since things seem to be taming at school and here at home, I might just go back and try to write a riff again.

NP: OverKill - New Machine

MAthiAS 09-13-2005 09:28 PM

That's cool, you're lucky. I either get to play guitar a lot, or not at all. Mostly depends on how much sleep I get. Today I didn't have any time because I had a much needed 5-hour nap =/

I have a problem with sleep on the weekdays. I tend to try to sleep before 10 since I live a half hour by streets to school, and I drive myself so I have to beat the rush hour traffic and the clock and be there before 8, so I have to get up at 6, be out by 7, and I take forever to knock out lately so I sometimes wake up half asleep >_<

Weekends are the best for me. Go to sleep whenever I want, get up whenever I want. :D

FatalEnergy 09-13-2005 11:00 PM

I stay up everynight until about midnight and then get up at 5:45. I get no sleep at all, but I usually make up for it on Saturday by sleeping the entire day

NP: Iced Earth - Wolf

MAthiAS 09-13-2005 11:04 PM

I'll alternate days playing guitar or sleeping until 11 PM, then chill and do homework or whatever until 2 in the morning, sleep til 7, rinse and repeat. Not really what I want to happen, but its how my time has been working out.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-14-2005 12:47 AM

I just play when i feel like it.

I go to bed around 11-12. Get up at about 7:50 (30 mins before school starts :-\)

MAthiAS 09-14-2005 05:54 AM

I'm one of those guys that doesn't feel like he's played enough if its not 5+ hours.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-14-2005 06:38 AM

I'm the opposite. My attention span isn't long enough for guitar. Usually I just pick the guitar up and play riffs/songs. Excercises for the most part bore me.

DimebagDarrell 09-14-2005 06:52 AM

i have to practice everyday for at least 5-6hour else i get very bored i think its pretty much got to be a way of live

Horrorscope finally came today very good not too sure if its better then the years of decay either way it kicks ***.

Horrorscope is my favourite Overkill! :thumb:

woah you all play guitar for ages

No wonder i'm so bad.... i play for about 30 mins a day.

MAthiAS 09-14-2005 01:33 PM
i have to practice everyday for at least 5-6hour else i get very bored i think its pretty much got to be a way of live
Yeah same here. For me its either 5+ hours or nothing, I feel incomplete if I don't get through the whole of what I need to practice. Like 3-4 of that is technique, 1 on new material, and 1 on writing and theory and ear.

I've got it down to a way where I don't lose interest either. I don't have the longest attention span, but I'll practice for 50 minutes then take a 10 minute break, rinse and repeat. Plus my leg starts falling asleep after that long too.

RCA 09-14-2005 04:15 PM

I play guitar until I get tired, which means I play for hours on end.

Terrorzone 09-14-2005 05:58 PM

I play drums........
/misfit

FatalEnergy 09-14-2005 08:21 PM

I play bass if I'm not doing homework, that used to be about 8 hours a day, latley it's been like 4 though.

MAthiAS 09-14-2005 08:27 PM

Anyone else notice that you actually play better after a break of not practicing? When I went on vacation for a week I came back and to my surprise, my alt picking was way faster.

RCA 09-14-2005 08:39 PM
Anyone else notice that you actually play better after a break of not practicing? When I went on vacation for a week I came back and to my surprise, my alt picking was way faster.
That's happened to me a few times. I hit a three string sweep after two days of not playing, it was awesome.

MAthiAS 09-14-2005 08:47 PM

Its never made my sweeping better unfortunately. Sweeping is one of those things for me that I have to constantly practice it, or I get rusty really fast.

After that one incident, the same rang true for me. Right now I'm learning arpeggios left and right.

Freezing Moon 09-14-2005 08:54 PM

Sweeping comes easy for me. :D

MAthiAS 09-14-2005 08:58 PM

It took me a lot of practice to get it down at first, but now I'm decent at it.

I'm curious on how it came out.

RCA 09-14-2005 09:54 PM

They were making a video? Awesome.

NP: Motorhead - Fight (Inferno is great, everyone pick it up if you haven't. It's just as good as the other essential Motorhead LPs)
