i'd neg rep you for that post

Why?
"weird" is pretty much like spam, its a useless post and doesn't make any point.
Quite a few.... Not on the albums i dont think lol, Just live... On live binge and purge he sings 98% of Seek and destroy.... It that a mistake near the intro, or were they meant to stop?
i also think he sings some other songs. he does a lot of back up vocals like on puppets.

Yeah... I think now that Jason has gone the pressure is on little Kirk to do backup vocals. I must say when St Anger was released, i think it got to number 3 in the charts over here and they played live on there, and he sounded really bad lol.... I wasn't happy all my scally friends kept chanting 'Flush it out, Flush it out'
They soon stopped when i told them they sounded just like him lol. In all fairness though Kirks voice has improved a lot recently.

It reminds me of years ago
I would go to a wedding and all these old women would pinch my cheeks and say awww you will be next!
They soon stopped that when i started saying it back to them at funerals!! lmao :naughty: :D

I'm 100% sure Kirk wasn't in the band during KEA.

but you know how they auditioned rob? they played a few songs with him. maybe kirk already knew some of the songs just from being a fan

More than likely.. He was in Exodus at the time, and its obvious that he was a very tallented guitarist right from the start, he had probably saw Metallica playing a hundred times, maybe even gone to there house parties... I know the exodus manager of the time went to Metallicas parties...

Kirk wrote a few of the KeA solos himself, an example is The Four Horsemen solo, and I think Seek & Destroy? Someone want to clarify this though?

Well this thought is my own, i could be entirely wrong, but i think Kirk helped with the making of Seek and Destroy... It seems very different to the other songs on the album, and it matches some of Kirks work in later albums..
Just my thought though...

p.s They forgot my username on that list lol

willis2441 03-10-2005 06:30 PM

i though i saw a video clip on SKOM where dave is playin the four horsemen solo?

No Kirk was definately on Kill 'em All.

And to LarsAgi007 yeah, that could be possible, but you'd have to check the booklet to make sure.

Actually mods can still give rep. And when a member reaches some special stage, he can give rep too....

...I think

Chu 03-10-2005 06:31 PM
i though i saw a video clip on SKOM where dave is playin the four horsemen solo?
It would have been Mechanix, and it is a different solo.

it sounded like the four horsemen solo though

I have heard that also... Just rumours though lol... I am off to bed all, i am up early for an induction, and training for my new job, take care Metallicats :)

LONG LIVE METALLICA! Yehea

Chu 03-10-2005 06:34 PM

As far as I know they didn't written The Four Horsemen while Dave was still in the band, they obviously had Mechanix, but I don't know if Lars and James had done their own rendition of it yet. This purely off my own assumption, so my facts could be way off.

whatduffhuck7 03-10-2005 06:40 PM

i love that solo, in the four horsemen. that and the solo in the call of ktulu are my 2 fav metallica solo's

That's awesome, truly. :thumb: :)

thelittledrummerboy 03-10-2005 06:43 PM

My guitarists plays the solo from jump in the fire. Thats pretty tech in my mind. My favs are the solos in One and The S&M version of Outlaw Torn.
My guitarists plays the solo from jump in the fire. Thats pretty tech in my mind. My favs are the solos in One and The S&M version of Outlaw Torn.
Love Jump In The Fire, that and Orion are the only songs I can be bothered learning to play on guitar.

vashts80 03-10-2005 06:55 PM

Jason did lots of songs:

Seek and Destroy
Whiplash
Creeping Death
The God That Failed
Master of Puppets

those are some of the songs that he did either backup (Puppets and TGTF) or lead (Creeping after the interlude, Seek, Whiplash)

Chu 03-10-2005 06:57 PM

Jason does Seek and Destroy with a very alcohol induced Pantera.

vashts80 03-10-2005 06:58 PM
Jason does Seek and Destroy with a very alcohol induced Pantera.
Ehh?

Explain.

Chu 03-10-2005 06:59 PM

You've never heard it?
Gimme your email address, I'll send you the .mp3.

FFbassist26 03-10-2005 07:15 PM

i think jason has a pretty kickass voice

Carlos Santana 03-10-2005 07:26 PM

yeah he does have a good voice

willis2441 03-10-2005 07:33 PM

he sings seek n destroy on live **** the cd

vashts80 03-10-2005 07:42 PM

He sings Seek and Destroy at various times. He does it on the San Diego DVD, he does it on the Mexico City CD, he does it at Woodstock '99; he did it at various concerts. I can't remember if he sang it on the Seattle DVD, though.

Joe 03-10-2005 08:07 PM

He did it most of the times he was with Metallica. I'm actually pretty sure one of the few he didn't was the Live Sh*T CD number 2
