Hey, Matt, thanks for the anal.
With love, Trevviekins  (not gay :shifty: ) What's up community? Haven't been here all day, partly because I passed out. The other is because I've been running around, having a life and shit. Bought a bunch of fireworks for only ONE DOLLAR. Gonna blow shit up sometime. . Pete- I liked the song. I can hear more jazz influence than metal, but it was a cool song. Fruity Loops is the coolest. If only I could use it correctly. :upset:
If you like Trains, check out Lazarus. It has the same prog pop feel to it, but with no banjo(minus) but a beautiful piano peice.(bonus!!) TO below- No. |

True. I don't know why I've never heard it on the radio; it would fit! |
Friendly reminder from your not-so-R&M-regular-poster-but-reader-mod: no spam and/or sex. Just because we're on page 669 doesn't mean we can get sexy.
Thanks. ;) |

I'm actually sort of glad that they're not so mainstream here. I like bands more when I'm the only one who has heard of them. I would almost cringe if I heard "Porcupine Tree" on the radio. |

Hmm what part of MS is Brandon? I live in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, right outside biloxi. |

Hey, there's no need to be elitist. I mean, sometimes it's good that nobody else hears what I'm listening to, like if I'm listening to some whacked-out, bizarre bands like The Mars Volta or Mr. Bungle. I'd prefer to not get funny looks from people when they hear the band or even just the name. But if it's a band that few people know about, but really should because they would probably enjoy it, then I get a bit more forward about wanting others to hear them. Like the PT song "Trains" or the band ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. Fun for all ages! |

That's a pretty weird/sad way to look at music, IMO. |

In my hometown, San Diego, there's a Radio Station that play Porcupine Tree everyday, is on the costum playlist, the good think is that the station plays only rock and metal, the bad thing is that the station is the most popular on San Diego. |
Actually, I think I just made that up...I've whored plenty of albums to my friends, including In Absentia.
lol I just read what I wrote... I wouldn't actually cringe if I heard them on the radio. I suppose it would be a good thing, b/c that would mean that PT would tour the US more often. (I just missed a concert of theirs a month ago) The thing is that I can hear Lazarus on adult contemporay, not the mainstream rock station. Fuck, I can't explain what I'm trying to say, so I shall leave it at this: I like Porcupine Tree. |
Our local college station plays Dredg, The Mars Volta (the made their own edit of L’ Via L’ Viaquez before TMV released a radio edit and the station still plays their own vesion), ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead and various other bands one might not expect.

I wanna radio station like that. When I'm sitting driving tractor for 10 hours straight(lol redneck) I get sick of hearing Nirvana and Metallica every single hour. It sucks extremely bad on two-for Tuesdays. :upset:

Jeez, where do you live? |
I live in Boston, where there are about three rock stations worth listening to. Still clearly better than all of the stations you guys have in your towns, from what I can gather.
|
My hometown Radio Station plays a lot Metallica and Nirvana, but they play other greats like Tool, Zeppelin,Anthrax, Mars Volta,RATM, the sundays they play a 2 hour show of Death metal, Black Metal, Grind and Power Metal, also they play underground stuff everyday at night and even they shot with glam rock and some beastie boys, cypress hill rap-rock stuff.
Jeez, where do you live?
Small hick town in northern British Columbia called Burns Lake. My town apparently has the highest FAS per capita in BC, they did a documentary of it on TV. It was sad. There are about 3,000 people in the town and surrounding area. My school has 500 people in it. |

Radio around here actually isnt bad. Ive found about 4 stations that play music I listen to, which suites me fine since I cant drive yet and only listen to the radio during summer when I sit around my room all day. They mostly play bands "main hits", but sometimes they'll play a lesser known, but better song. Too many commercials though. |

YEah, we have a number of good stations here. The one I was talking about is commercial free too sicne it's college radio. There's another college station which plays more classic rock and hard rock mixed together and there's always NPR.
|
We have an alternative rock station (101.7 FNX), a classic rock station (100.7 WZLX), and the nebulously-phrased "rock of Boston" (104.1 WBCN) and all of them are worth listening to.
Also, I smoked a cig for the first time in months tonight  I didn't mean for it to happen, I just wanted to sit on my back steps and think for a little bit, and I still had most of a pack of smokes left...so I dunno. NP: Beck - Nobody's Fault But My Own |
