Question.

Why do Metalcore musicians put so little effort into seeming at all like they play metal? Its such a rarity to see someone who takes the effort to grow long hair or wear metal shirts. Metalcore musicians look more like the average college student or numetal worshipper than someone who is passionate about metal. To me it seems like they try to be "heavy" or "hardcore" to be kooky, yet they are afraid of what society or their parents might think if they actually grow their hair out, wear metal shirts or put any kind of artistic direction into their image.
One of the worsts posts in a thread rammed full of them. Congratulations, you're shallow!

I didn't realize growing your hair out took effort. Pretty sure it's easy to look like a greasy slob.

Josh D. 02-10-2008 08:11 PM

What an idiot. I'd like to know where it says there is one look for a heavy metal musician. Especially considering the numerous genres of today.

masscows 02-10-2008 08:13 PM

I think he's just sick of generic prep kids playing metal. He doesn't mean there's one look people have to have to play metal.

Putting worth on how they look makes him shallow, and therefore scum.

You do it all the time.

Josh D. 02-10-2008 08:19 PM

Speaking of image, I find it really funny that AILD is a Christian band, yet Tim alone has sleeves and stuff.

masscows 02-10-2008 08:19 PM

what

Josh D. 02-10-2008 08:22 PM

Well, I guess not then.

masscows 02-10-2008 08:22 PM

By sleeves do you mean shirt sleeves? I don't really understand what you're talking about.

Tyler 02-10-2008 08:23 PM
You do it all the time.
When?

He means tattoo sleeves, dipshit.

Josh D. 02-10-2008 08:24 PM

No, I meant shirt sleeves.

Sweaters too.

masscows 02-10-2008 08:25 PM
When?
I remember something about saying Cryptopsy won't make good records anymore because of faux hawks (not that they make good records anyway) among other things.
He means tattoo sleeves, dippoop.
Oh. Why is that not Christian?

Anyway stupid topic.
