I think the drums are just as bad to be honest. There arent as many 350 bpm blast beats but there's still plenty of over-the-top ridiculousness.

That being said I like it more than Carriers. It's better overall; Carriers had one good song. It's still way too ambitious for its own good (the first song is an absolute mess, it's like four in one), but it's solid-to-good. Guitar-work has improved, piano is cool but the strings are still kind of goofy sounding. Vocals waver between adequate and terrible with flashes of decency

RetiredAt21 05-27-2008 01:51 AM

I can't stand Mirrorthrone.

np: Deutsche Treue

publicastration 05-27-2008 01:53 AM

Meh I love Vladimir. Maybe more than I should, but Carriers is honestly a perfect album for me.

btw Weeping Birth is also good, though the drums are way too much.

Tyler 05-27-2008 01:56 AM

The first time I heard Weeping Birth I burst out into laughter.

Yeah, Wehrhammer is elite.

Do you like Kristallnacht?

Silenius 05-27-2008 08:39 PM

Can you stop using elite as a description, ****'s ****ing annoying. :)

RetiredAt21 05-27-2008 10:53 PM

I guess I can stop.

Stevie IV 05-28-2008 09:14 AM

i saw a 4 year old "friday night with johathan ross" yesterday and there was some film trailer on there for "hellboy" and pretty soon i realised that the music on there was demon burger. two songs are used from that death cult armageddon - although both before the metal kicked in.....

now so called "black metal" bands are used in major holywood movies. can we expect the situation to get any worse?

Dimmu Burger 05-28-2008 09:29 AM

"So Called" being the key words.

the2stranger 05-28-2008 10:33 AM

Exactly.

I think Dimmu has been featured in movies before actually.

I am looking forward to the new Hellboy movie though.

Dimmu Burger 05-28-2008 10:39 AM

I haven't noticed them in any movies before, but I don't watch anything that would warrant extreme metal.

Stevie IV 05-28-2008 10:40 AM

tr00

but dimmu borgir today....mayhem tomorrow?
i bet 15 years ago they never thought black metal would get like this

Dimmu Burger 05-28-2008 10:46 AM

Well I dunno how popular it used to be, so its hard for me to say that it is more popular than ever.

Would not surprise me, if this is any indication of things to come.

I never saw the appeal of those spacer earrings or whatever they are. You're putting a huge fucking hole in your ear, it looks absolutely terrible.

Ghoul Hustler 05-28-2008 09:47 PM

Huge ones like that look dumb but medium/small gauges are awesome.

large gauges are absolutely stupid looking.

I just don't see the appeal at all, not even for any sort of piercing. When it comes down to it, all you're really doing is sticking sharp metal into your skin, and in a lot of cases causing some sort of deformity. It seems totally illogical.

It's art. No different than getting a tattoo or even wearing something like a bracelet.

RouteOne 05-28-2008 11:09 PM

Yeah, you're just going to look like a complete imbecile when you're 70 and you have floppy-*** lobe ropes dangling everywhere.

I have a small ring in my cartilage on my left ear. Its small and I like how it looks.

How can a piercing be no different than a bracelet? Sure, if you were sticking the bracelet through your nose, then I guess so, but you don't. I understand that it's considered fashion, but I think it's ridiculous.

What do you mean? They're both a meaningless item that affects nothing but your look. How can that be ridiculous?

rasputin 05-28-2008 11:18 PM

There is a huge difference between a piercing and a bracelet, in that one needs to be stabbed into your body. It's a pretty obvious difference, in fact. But yeah, this is a pretty useless discussion anyway. I don't have any piercings, nor do I wear any bracelets :P

Ghoul Hustler 05-28-2008 11:20 PM

What's your hangup about the "stab" part? It's a little half second prick that you barely even feel.
