Oh my god the new Pantha Du Prince album is blowing my mind. Like seriously, blows any album from last year out of the water. There is a Panda Bear guest spot on one track that I didn't think would work, but it's stunning.

I always thought they should have made Oxeneers into an ep, with just the first 5 or 6 tracks. |

Thank you kyle. You know I didn't really know what I was doing today, but now I do. |
i dl'ed that album too on that recommendation, im excited to hear it
|
i just started it. its awesome, more of the intensely smooth space lounge from this bliss, but sounds like some more variety in the voices. its really long too, im just on the opener. probably gonna get his first, diamond daze as well while im at it. while both are 4 stars on amg they put the check on diamond daze.
|
Yesss, I've listened to it about 4 times through now and I love it.
|
123 Kyle, thanks for the recommendation. Never heard Panthu Du Prince before but I can tell after a listen through that I will love this.

Diff'rent strokes, dawg. I just kept waiting for it to get rhythmic or turn into something with recognizable beat/melody, but that never quite happened. I had never heard of him prior to this, which might've helped. |
dude he made entire songs out of his voice.

Listened to the album today, it was great. Everything the guy releases is quite good. I still prefer This Bliss though. Have you heard Efdemin? If you like Pantha definitely check that dude out, he is really good too. And I've been listening to: Return To Forever - Light as a Feather Dam-Funk - Toeachhizown John Coltrane - Live At Birdland Grouper - Wide Mission of Burma - Vs. |

In regards to this sort of thing though, Pantha and The Field are my favorites. |
Leonard Cohen - Songs of Love and Hate
Gang of Four - Entertainment! |

I can admire that he can make songs like that, but they were just a little too ambient for me. I can dig that sometimes, but I was there for a gnarly jam sesh (EitS), and that just wasn't cuttin' it. |

Yeah, Efdemin is good. My favorites regarding the whole minimalistic techno thing are probably Pantha and Ricardo Villalobos. The Field is ****ing excellente aswell though. |
