I should Introduce myself (1st time in like 3 years)

My Name Is Vasily Matthew Wesley Thomas (Matt to the western world). I was born in Nizhniy Novgorod in what was then the USSR. My family immigrated to Fredericton, New Brunswick when I was 2, in 1986. I studied and graduated from The Centre for Arts and Technology Audio Engineering in 2005, did a 7 month internship at Avatar, and currently do part time work at both A grocery store as a Maintenance Person, and as a film post engineer.

I have played concert percussion since 7th Grade, learning Timpani and world percussion for a local youth orchestra, and in 2003 started playing kit in a Post-Hardcore band called Paperboat!. Since 2005, I have been playing mostly Modern-Hardcore and anything I could in local studios for cash. But my greatest musical accomplishment is the 15+ years I have spent competitivly playing bagpipes at the international level, both solo and in a band, the Fredericton Society of Saint Andrews Pipe Band, which is ranked in the top 10 bands in North America.

I am a pro-peace activist, and don't beleive in violence or war. In 2004, I received a $2000 ticket for illegialy protesting the war in both Iraq and Afganistan. I vote NDP, and don't eat ham, cause I got food poisoning from ham once.

I don't believe in religion or extreme patriotism. I support gay marriage and pro-choice groups, donate money to the United Way, and I travel public transportation when I can.

I hate Pearl Drums, DW Drums and Keller Shells. I love Gretsch, Paiste/Meinl, Gibraltar, Yamaha Pedals and AMS-Neve consoles. I also love Guiness, Nachos and the book "Human Punk" by John King.

Peace out, yos

Berk 03-19-2007 07:56 PM

Ham sucks

Both taste wise, and the fact that pigs, as animals, freaking suck.

lol

Turkey is by far the best sliced meat, and chicken(like...in pieces) for sammiches.

beef/pig, eeew.

That's okay. The generic torrent sites are decent enough for me most of the time.

I'm working on some cool electronica music now. Inspired by Mezzanine, which I've been listening to like crazy the last couple nights.

Plus a bunch of pure experimentation, which is always fun. I'll upload some when I feel I'm done with a song, see what you guys think.

coolest part is when Travis starts Offsetting the bass so it sounds like a medium pace double bass run

which sinatra and cash albums do you have?

Hmmm.. if ya like catch, you should check out Streetlight Manifesto and BOTAR.
Same singer(Tomas Kalnoky) as on their first album. Streetlight is good, kinda like Catch's first album, only a bit different. They do a version of Keasbey Nights(the whole album). And BOTAR owns. They're like...acoustic ska.
which sinatra and cash albums do you have?
I own no full albums from either. I plan to invest in some eventually, though.
I love Johnny's "American IV" though, killer cd. I like his earlier stuff more sometimes, it's more upbeat, happier.
