My parents are divorced, and he lives on a property up in the Tablelands; a pretty rural area that sits just past a mountain range about a two hour drive from my house. It's where most of the dairy farmers are. Anyway, he has a windmill that drives a filtration system for the creek that runs through his land. And late Thursday arvo, he noticed that it wasn't working, so he inspected it and found the cogs that drove it had dislodged. By the way, my dad thinks he is invincible :p so he decides to go and re-align the gears while they are still moving!

So anyway, his hand slips, and gets crushed between two of the cogs. On a reaction, he pulls his hand out, and nearly overbalances and falls backward off the two metre high platform where the gears are. So he reacts again and instinctively reaches out with his undamaged hand for something to halt his fall. His hand found the gears, and he crushed his right hand as well. So now he has the sense to pull his hands out slowly, climb down, and walk to his neighbours up the road.

It turns out the gears broke all of his fingers bar one index finger, and the thumbs. Plus they tore off the pinky of his left hand. So during surgery they had to remove two more of his fingers, because they were too broken to repair, and the rest are in casts, which could take two months to heal.

So now he has two fingers on his left hand, and four broken on his right. Other than that he's okay.
I'm sorry, but that is the funniest thing. Ever. Can't they replace his fingers or something, or is he permanetly stuck with only 6 fingers?

All -core bands (except grindcore) should add medio in front of it. Medio-core, or Mediocre. Because, they all suck.

Paranoidd 09-14-2004 09:32 AM

Hardcore isn't too bad, as long as the singers aren't hurting and it doesn't turn all melodic.

What is it they call lamb of god again? Metalcore? I like LOG.

superpeer 09-14-2004 01:13 PM

Wow, I never realized that rateyourmusic.com was such an awesome site.

Also, I still like 'Limp Bizkit - Significant Other', good album.

SofaKing713 09-14-2004 02:02 PM

Three dollar bill was a lot better than significant other IMO.

superpeer 09-14-2004 02:36 PM

Three dollar bill is not bad.

I used to love Limp Bizkit, I still like them. :)

I my allergies are acting up, I hate allergies :(

Paranoidd 09-15-2004 09:34 AM

So I sounded like an idiot on the radio.

I'm on my way to pick up some weed, with 5 friends, 2 of us in each car. So I'm listening to the local rock station (102.1 The Edge) and they're doing a competition of drummers. Basically they pick two drummers, and you call in and vote. Last one they did was Travis Barker vs. Tre Cool (not one vote for Tre, haha).

Well, yesterday was Travis Barker vs. Danny Carey.

I had to call.

So I call in, I get through and I'm like "I'd like to vote for the drummers please." He's like "go ahead." I say "I'd like to vote for Danny Carey." and he says "how come" and I'm like...uh.....uh.....uh....oh man...hes probably...the...best...modern drummer...?

They edited out my "uh....uh....uh..." part but I still sounded like an idiot. I really didn't expect to be asked why.

/me could have given so many good reasons, but folded.

And that is my interesting story for the day :)

Bartender 09-15-2004 09:40 AM

I on the other hand have no interesting story for the day, except that I somehow failed to get to sleep last night. So I've been awake just about 26 hours now.

You were right though. You had to call.

Paranoidd 09-15-2004 09:45 AM

Now that I think about it, last night sucked.

I smoked too much dope and told this long and drawn out story to about 10 people, it was supposed to be real funny but at the end of it nobody was laughing. I swear I could hear crickets in the background...

No sleep 0wns.

SonorKen 09-15-2004 10:00 AM

Paranoidd 09-15-2004 10:03 AM

That spam didn't work out too well.

superpeer 09-15-2004 09:05 PM

Not quite.

Anyway, I'm exhausted, I shouldn't stay up until 5AM.

Bartender 09-15-2004 09:22 PM

Yeah, you really shouldn't :)

I'm not tired yet and it's starting to worry me..I woke up around 3pm Tuesday, and it's now just after 4am Thursday. I napped for about an hour and a half earlier, but that's been it.

RavenousMetalist87 09-15-2004 09:38 PM

I used to stay up late during the time I had summer school because my class wasn't until 10am. I ended up regretting doing that because I would be lazy when I got home and didn't really want to do homework, and I would take short naps to get some energy back.

Now I'm back in school and going to bed at 10, waking up at 6. I get enough rest, and for some reason, I make it through the day without feeling sleepy. I guess that entire week I was up north really fixed my sleeping schedule.

Bartender 09-15-2004 09:53 PM

I'm not actually anywhere, school or work, at the moment, so it doesn't really matter.

Where up north?

RavenousMetalist87 09-15-2004 10:00 PM

In the East Bay of California, near San Francisco. It's so much nicer than where I live.

I like it better there than Los Angeles. It seems like everyone up there knows Metal when you mention it. Here, they're not all into the metal scene. It's either pop punk, modern mainstream rock, hip hop, rap or R&B.

Bartender 09-15-2004 10:05 PM

I live in the north of England, and I've actually yet to meet anyone (IRL, not online) in my area who likes metal as much as I do, or even just music (other than pop).

RavenousMetalist87 09-15-2004 10:09 PM

I guess Metal just doesn't appeal to the masses :upset:

It's not a big deal but I think I'd probably enjoy my life a lot better in Northern California. The Bay Area was the birthplace of Metallica, Testament and Exodus. Heck, not to mention Death Angel and Vio-Lence too.

Bartender 09-15-2004 10:15 PM

Well I'm moving to Leeds (for University) this weekend. I can't think of anything good to have come from Leeds though, metal or not :(

Being honest though, not matter how open-minded or mature we metalheads are, if metal was universally loved it wouldn't be anywhere near as appealing.

RavenousMetalist87 09-15-2004 10:23 PM

Good luck when you're at Leeds. I'm still in high school (a private one x_x) and this year, I think I'm getting off to a good start. I hope I can keep it that way because if I do, it'll make my life a whole lot easier when it comes to college. I don't plan to goto a 4-year College like my sister as of right now. I'm focusing on majoring somewhere on the field of Animation. My mom suggested that Glendale Community College has a very good Animation program, and she said I can go there for 2 years, and then transfer into a college that has an Animation program as well.

So far, being 17 has become a major turning point in my life. I figured out what I really wanted, and that I know that I would have to work hard to earn the respect I want. I know that school is going to get harder, so I got all the rest I needed before I went back, and so far, I have just missed only 1 assignment so far in each class. I've been on top of my work and making sure I'm doing the work and spending less time on the internet. This year, I've seen quite a few of my fellow juniors say "Screw Homework"

I remember that sophmore year sucked, but I think Junior year might be like Freshman year, only better.

I'm gonna kick it though because I got the first Chemistry test of the year tommorrow. I got a C+ on the first quiz, so I want to make sure I at least get a B on the test. I'll probably be back on Friday to check and post a few things, but then I gotta make sure I'm ready for the Driver's Permit written exam on Saturday...at 8AM x_x

Bartender 09-15-2004 10:26 PM

Good luck with it all then. I just left the equivalent of high school, I think (also a private one, coincidentally), and I loved the time I spent there, for various reasons that it's too 5:21am for me to explain right now.

I'm thinking of bidding up to $1000 on this thing...even if I don't play it, I could resell it. I think the reserve will be much more though.

why not just go to the pit?
