But don't you see the philosophical dilemma that puts you in? You're not responsible for what you have, you're not in charge of making your own happiness, "god did it". Thats terrifying.

Actually I never worry and I feel safe even walking around in a building with 600 inmates who hate my guts. It's exactly the opposite. God has always taken care of me and kept me safe in numerous situations where I could have been hurt/killed or in an accident etc.
