Anyone listen to the instrumental version? I think I might check it out, cause at times the vocals do really steal the attention from the instruments, so it might be cool to listen (even though I do really like the vocals on Fortress).

I like it, its all in good fun, just like Dragonforce themselves.

Ok Fortress has much more varied melodies and catcher melodic vocals than Kezia for sure.
Anyone? (Not the EP either, the full instrumental album)
I didn't know they had a full instrumental of the album available.

Tyler 02-02-2008 07:03 PM

Yup
Yup
I'll have to get that once we find somebody who has it.

Capricious 02-02-2008 07:20 PM

The instrumental album is interesting but i mostly find my self thinking about the lyrics and vocal melodies during the songs anyway. It highlights a lot of short guitar leads that get lost in the whole album. The volume of the bass guitar is slightly lower than that of the drums--it is more audible without Rody's vocals throwing it further into the background. More standout than the new guitar leads that i couldn't hear before, is the amount of polish on post production; little electronic synth keys, strings or extra brass, slight choir layering all adds to a highly refined product.

Link please?

Tyler 02-02-2008 07:25 PM

He probably bought it on iTunes.

beans 02-03-2008 02:34 AM

thats where i found it, its very interesting to listen to
especially with no vocals you really get to hear how good the other musicians are (not that you would need an instrumental version of the album to tell you how good they are.)

Shattered_Future 02-03-2008 10:41 AM

PTH should play Bamboozle this year. They'd be one out of three bands there that I would want to go see. I'm sure they have enough **** that the scene kiddies would like too.

awia 02-03-2008 11:58 AM

E-Friend said he saw them yesterday, he said rody tried to pull a Sam Totman but failed miserably....

basically said it was a bad performance on his part

Capricious 02-03-2008 12:36 PM

Word; itunes. For the price of a couple beers at a pub it seemed worth it, even though down the road it'll probably just seem like a novelty album.

Saskatchewan seems like a good place to write off a show more than anywhere though.

Tyler 02-03-2008 02:42 PM

It's been like -30 in Sask, you have to be drunk to stay warm!

Sponer 02-03-2008 08:06 PM

I've got the full instrumental version now if anyone still wants it. I don't have AIM or MSN or any of those. I can do email?

It's pretty cool.

Tyler 02-03-2008 08:12 PM

lintmunro @ hotmail.com please and thanks!

Sponer 02-03-2008 08:16 PM

Tyler 02-03-2008 08:20 PM

Dimmu Burger 02-03-2008 09:19 PM

My friend just asked me if I wanna go see Silverstein and I'm like shit no and then I read that Protest The Hero is playing and now i'm trying to scrape up 17 bucks, lol.

Tyler 02-03-2008 09:20 PM

You should go.

This is weeeird, I keep waiting for the vocals to come in, hah.

Dimmu Burger 02-03-2008 09:26 PM

Can someone mail me the link?

Danielhowardjr@cablespeed.com

Thanks!

Tyler 02-03-2008 09:30 PM

I just heard a lead in Bone Marrow that definitely wasn't in the regular version

Josh D. 02-03-2008 09:31 PM

I don't know if I would even listen to it if I had it. Those damn vocal melodies and hooks are more than half the reasons I listen to the album. Due to Rody's improvement, I don't like passing it up.

Tyler 02-03-2008 09:32 PM

I totally agree, but you hear a lot of what you wouldnt normally hear because the vocals are just another layer.

Like, I noticed a lot more in the drums and bass especially.
