Eliminator 09-04-2006 10:47 PM

I'm speaking more in terms of his lyrical/emcee abilities.

Rams 09-04-2006 10:54 PM

Which esteemed emcee actually deserves his credit in rap today?

Eliminator 09-04-2006 10:55 PM

Adman?

"Chicken Noodle Soup" suplants Lil' Wayne's "Go DJ" as the best song ever.

JonM 09-05-2006 12:03 AM
Adman?
I'm still trying to find that record. I've been looking for a while.

2muchket! 09-05-2006 04:31 AM

I heard a bit of Ludacris this morning and I was nearly violently sick.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-05-2006 05:08 AM

I got Paul's Boutique from the library today, it's great.

Kyle 09-05-2006 07:34 AM

Yeah it rules, I still prefer Ill communication though.

LF96 09-05-2006 01:59 PM
Does Black Moon have any other CD's as good as Enta Da Stage? That one is truly excellent.
Check Smif 'n Wessuns Dah Shinin if you haven't done that yet. That's pretty much in the same vein. Actually, you can't go wrong with most early Boot Camp Click (the crew where Black Moon and Smif 'n Wessun are part off) stuff, most of it has that grimey new york mid-90s feel.

I just listened to Jeru The Damaja's "The Sun Rises in the East" again. Been a while, I had forgotten how great it actually was. :)

lol.

Kyle 09-05-2006 02:13 PM

When people are amusing, they can get away with consistently bad posting.

Storm In A Teacup 09-05-2006 05:06 PM

Not really. But Eliminator is never amusing on the forum so he'll always get in trouble.

Rap/Hip-Hop discussion? Let's talk Eminem. :)

His worst stuff I've heard is probably "Fack" and then "My Dad's Gone Crazy". Sheesh, with "Fack" you'd think that he was trying to make people not like him anymore and therefore not care if he retires. "My Dad's Gone Crazy" because his daughter was so young at the time her voice is completely unlistenable.

I'm in love with his Greatest Hits though. Pretty much every song other than "Fack". Wonderful stuff.

Kyle 09-05-2006 05:17 PM

He writes some good pop songs, but he also writes songs like Ass Like that.

Little Man being Erased 09-05-2006 06:22 PM

The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP are excellent. I even enjoy parts of The Eminem Show.

/doesn't mention post-Eminem Show material.

The Jungler 09-05-2006 06:24 PM

I still have yet to listen to Slim Shady or Marshall Mathers in their enitirty. What I have heard though is pretty fantastic, escpecially Kim which I would blast right now if my mom wasn't home.

New Lupe Fiasco single is really good. The beat isn't quite as good as Kick Push, but its still great stuff.

Eliminator 09-05-2006 06:26 PM

I'm pretty sure that the song has been out as a single for awhile now.

I think next time I get some dinero Deltron 3030 may end up in my possession.

Glitterati 09-05-2006 07:00 PM

Eminem has sorta fell out of favor with me because he's got a lot of great stuff but it turns me off when he does so much novelty stuff.

Frequently Tripping 09-05-2006 07:55 PM

^Exactly. Some of his stuff is pure genius, but a lot of it is really dumb.

Wannabebassplayer 09-05-2006 08:22 PM

Anyone listened to the new Outkast album? what is it like? I havent really been listening to much hip hop for a few months now, really need to try and start listening to more of it. The Roots have a new album out too - need to listen to that too!

Happymeal 09-05-2006 08:23 PM

Never really liked the guy. Dunno.

Wannabebassplayer 09-05-2006 08:26 PM

IMO I loved Eminems first two albums, then just went off him, seemed to get too big headed after that.

Kaden 09-05-2006 08:30 PM

I really like the new Outkast album. People don't seem to be too excited about it, and I'll admit by Outkast standards it's subpar, but still better than most bands. I'd say Speakerboxx/Love Below had a few songs that were better than anything on Idlewild, but wasn't as consistently good.

Wannabebassplayer 09-05-2006 08:36 PM

cool, Ill definately have to get it then. ALways been a pretty big fan of Outkast.

ATM 09-05-2006 08:38 PM

You guys should try and find Eminem's Infinite. That album is pure gold.

JonM 09-05-2006 09:00 PM
cool, Ill definately have to get it then.
Yes, you will. I'd recommend the Roots album as well.

pixiesfanyo 09-05-2006 10:56 PM

What's the best rap album of '06?

Nothing I have heard tops Fishscale.

Rams 09-05-2006 11:16 PM

Either Murray's Revenge or Fishscale.

BillCosby 09-05-2006 11:22 PM
What's the best rap album of '06?

That would probably be my pick as well.

CowboyBebop 09-06-2006 01:30 AM
That would probably be my pick as well.
What about Meth's and Masta Killa's new album?

Kyle 09-06-2006 04:32 AM
I really like the new Outkast album. People don't seem to be too excited about it, and I'll admit by Outkast standards it's subpar, but still better than most bands.
I don't understand why people aren't digging it, I love the new album.
