^^Some versions(deluxe editions).

BlindWriting 10-02-2005 07:20 PM

There was the 20th Anniversary Edition with the remastered album, as well as a bonus disc of remixes, demos, and other tracks.

The other newer edition was a Dualdisc with the remastered album and the DVD side, which is what Jake got, I guess.

EDIT:
10th Anniversary Edition**.

Shadows 10-02-2005 07:22 PM

I got mine last year. I don't think it had all of that sweet stuff. :(

BlindWriting 10-02-2005 07:30 PM

I have the 10th Anniversary Edition, the first one I mentioned.

First NIN album, awesome stuff. Most of the time I tend to prefer The Fragile to TDS, but that's constantly subject to change.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-02-2005 07:40 PM

BlindWriting- Before today, I'd only heard Closer.

Also, I bought the DualDisc 10 year anniversarray edition. There was some kind of "zomg d-lux edishun" but it was 27 bucks, so I went with the cheaper one. :p

NP: Heresy

Good choice. The surround-sound mix of that CD is...just amazing. Actually, relatively speaking, the one of With Teeth is even better.

I hadn't realized TDS has been out since 1985.....

Dried Muffin Remnants 10-02-2005 08:09 PM

The Fragile is loaded with great songs... But concept-wise you can't beat TDS. I'm still trying to give With Teeth a try, but I only like a few songs on there. Also, The Hand That Feeds is an unbelievably annoying song with an even more annoying meaning.

 True about THTF. I don't mind it within the album, but as a song itself...yeah, no good.

Dried Muffin Remnants 10-02-2005 08:23 PM

RUINER is so underrated. I think that's the best song on TDS. It has this awesome distorted guitar solo (or at least I think it is).

Kage 10-02-2005 08:24 PM

I love Ruiner. That and The Becoming are undoubtedly my favorites from TDS. Those seem to be the least-talked about, though.

Killtacular 10-02-2005 08:37 PM

I really don't care too much for With Teeth.

Eraser owns, as far as The Downward Spiral goes.

Gah! Crap. 10th Anniversary.

Apologies to everyone.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-02-2005 08:44 PM

I'd like to listen to it in Surround, but my mom doesn't like the F word.

But, let me figure this out- Instead of the effects just being panned from left to right, they can move through all 4 speakers? I would love that!

NP: Heresy
:o You're saying that today was the first time you heard The Becoming and Hurt? Congrats, you'll have many listens to come.

The pre-chorus in Ruiner, with those layers of hyper, distorted vocals, is so, so fucking amazing. And The Becoming is easily one of my favorite NIN songs period.

Killtacular 10-02-2005 08:58 PM

I love towards the end where it has that clicking sound, that reminds me of a striker.*

*striker - spring loaded device with flint and metal used to light oxy-acetylene torches, among other things.

bwnstl 10-02-2005 11:46 PM

I'm so glad so many people like The Becoming. It's one of my favorite songs by NIN, period, as well. The piano riff is just so...jarring. And immediately following it, I Do Not Want This is also one of my favorites. I think they're some of the most emotionally creepy songs I've ever heard.

Ostrich Man 10-02-2005 11:50 PM

Hurt is an awesome song too...its sort of creepy though...

Heidi 10-03-2005 12:29 AM

I'm listening to a NIN dance remix my friend made. (he's a dj)

Anyone know where I can get a bootleg of any of the With Teeth Tour shows?

repcak 10-03-2005 08:19 AM

i like 'The Becoming' (the screams in the background! wow) and 'The Downward Spiral' most.

how i see TDS(the song): its the song where he commits suicide. he knows thats his last few minutes in his life; he once again gets sad, depressive (you hear even his breathing)... maybe he looks back at his life and rethinks once again (for the last time) if he should kill himself.
The breathing stops and (at 1:50) the music gets happy ... for me its sounds like music for a little child (5-9yrs) cause its sounds so funny/happy. thats the moment where he decides: no i don't want to live anymore... in some seconds the whole pain will be gone! and thats why he feels relieved and smiles in the end. Afterwards he shots himself "so much blood for such a tiny hole"

/thats my interpretation of the song; what do you think about it?

repcak 10-03-2005 02:37 PM

today my own homepage went online (its in german).
-> in the category 'Bilder' you will find my photos from my NIN-conert!! i once uploaded them 3months ago, but meanwhile i re-edit them on photoshop and therefore they are in better quality now :thumb:
