How long has he had that?

metalmilitia101 10-12-2005 08:56 PM
One let down when I saw Slayer was that Kerry used the same guitar. I was hoping to see him switch to that red flying v and one of his warlocks.. but he played the whole concert with his Tribal-V.
oh thats dissapointing!! he has such awesome ones in the pics.

lightningmetal666 10-13-2005 11:52 AM

You could always spend some cash and get your hair straightened.

So... what are some of your guys' favorite songs off of Divine Intervention. As I stated before my favorite is Serenity in Murder.
For me it's a tie between Killing Fields and Fictional Reality.

Britton 10-13-2005 12:06 PM

His warlocks are so cool. I would never buy one...but hey props
for cool looking guitars.

According to Slayersaves.com the new album will be released sometime in 06.
EDIT-And according to a headline on slayersaves.. it says Slayer is hard at work on their new album due February.

Poofy 666 10-13-2005 02:41 PM

i would go to their concerts but I'm afraid of dying:)

I remember when I saw them it wasn't that crazy except around the pits... I remember during one of their songs.. I think it was Chemical Warfare, but I looked over at the pit and it was just huge guys slamming and elbowing each other as hard as they could, and some people had bloodied faces. The worst that happened to me is that I got my hair tugged on by assholes that wanted to get to my spot.

I absolutely love Slayer shows, they are the best pits you'll ever get if you are into that kind of thing. I'm 6-4 well built and enjoy moshing, and Slayer shows never dissapoint. Plus not a hardcore dancer in sight :D .
Admittedly its not everyones thing but if you stay out of the pits you'll be fine.

whatduffhuck7 10-13-2005 05:42 PM

ive never been to a slayer show, i dont know why becuase they are my favorite band and ive herd there great. maybe after they release there next album theyll tour to promote that and ill go then.

I love mosh pits and I generally rule them. Rarely do I get knocked down. (then again I'm 6'3'' and I weigh around 300lbs.)

That's what I'm hoping for.. they're a band that I will buy a ticket to see everytime they come to my town.

I was amazed that at my show there wasn't any scenesters. The venue I saw Slayer at always has hardcore kids that go to every show no matter what genre of music is playing. Seriously last Saturday I saw Cryptopsy and Suffocation and there were like 8 scenester emo/hardcore kids there.

Those are the ppl that I target in mosh pits. Occasionally their gay buddies'll convince them that they're bad @$$ enough to mosh so I put them down on their @$$.

metalmilitia101 10-13-2005 06:32 PM

haha that is so hilarious. there's nothing more fun than inviting someone you really don't like who is sheltered to a rock concert and throwing him in the pit...::sigh:: its great. yeah i would like to see a slayer show too, and who the hell is afraid of dying?? geez just stay outta the pits...

lightningmetal666 10-13-2005 06:34 PM

Death isn't scary, just a transition to something else. Don't know why but I'm actually more afraid of spiders than death.

I'm Charming 10-13-2005 06:39 PM

I never gone to any huge concerts, just smaller metal/metalcore shows. There would always be the scenesters hxc dancing. There wasn't really a mosh pit ever cuz all the scene kids.
Basiclly moshing=smashing into each other a ton? Could someone whos been to a slayer or huge metal show describe?

ArcLite 10-13-2005 06:42 PM

Traditional moshing is nothing more than jumping around and crashing into each other, usually a bit of pushing. However, a standard mosh, unfortunately, is impossible to achieve these days due to all the faggots who think swinging their arms around violently like monkeys is cool.

I saw them at a pretty small venue, it only holds like 2,000 or 3,000 but it was a packed sold out show. The pits like I said weren't just people shoving each other, people were getting elbowed, socked, and body checked.

EDIT-correction, according the the venue's website it, it holds a max of 2300 people.

lightningmetal666 10-13-2005 06:43 PM

Well it depends on the genre. I've been (all local shows mind you) to both metal and punk and the punk pits were much tamer and involved the whole dance thing. Metal (especially extreme metal) I wouldn't put it past someone to just walkup and sock you right in the face. (I've seen it many times) Most often than not you slam into ppl, but then again there's always some @$$ who thinks he's king sh*t and goes overboard.

I'm Charming 10-13-2005 06:46 PM

I'm 6'3 200 so I'm not a small guy.

I'm going to see children of bodom, trivium, amon marth in Nov. Will they kick you out for punching someone? Cuz if someone does that I'll knock em out.

It all depends on the venue. Some venues say they don't allow moshing or crowdsurfing, but actually let you do that and only say you aren't allowed to, so they can't get in trouble if you get hurt doing something stupid. If some asshole, came up and socked in the pit, I'm pretty sure you'd be okay if you hit him back, but if a brawl broke and such, I'm definately sure the security would come and remove you guys.

lightningmetal666 10-13-2005 06:49 PM

I would say to just ignore the guy for a moment then when he turns around straight clock him in the back of the head and say someone else did it, that way security can't bust you.

dude unless they are dumbshits they wont give a damn, unless it gets out of control. but most of the time they wont discriminate between fighting and moshing.

I've done that a few times when security was right there. But when the pit got really full of people it was hard to tell who was who and plus the lights were off. Or hook his foot so he falls and kick him.

Fighting and moshing are very simalar anyway.

metalmilitia101 10-13-2005 07:05 PM

yeah, i've been to alot of concerts and the rules are always differing. in the big shows in the huge stadiums like metallica, korn, mudvayne and all the security guards usually can't even see you unless you are right smack in front of their noses. then in the less big shows such as atreyu or the used, usually you can get away with stuff as long as you don't prolong it. the really small shows with just under a thousand people or maybe just a few hundred you usually can get away with it - but you can't do a whole lot. if you decked someone in the head right in front of security they kick you out. and also, my friend crowdsurfed at a local show and got kicked out, it was gay. i jumped stage and all they did was send me back in cept in the back lol. but you never know, just gotta keep an eye out and see what other people are doing.

I'm Charming 10-13-2005 07:35 PM
just gotta keep an eye out and see what other people are doing.
Thats almost always a safe bet if you havnt been to the venue before. I hate the rent a pigs that think they are actually the police or worth something. They take themselves way to seroiusly. That's mostly at small shows where nothing ever would happen so they have to act and look busy.

metalmilitia101 10-13-2005 07:53 PM

oh god i know...and you are totally right about that. all they are there for is so that the venue can give some loser a chance to make him feel superior. they can't afford real security lol.

I'm Charming 10-13-2005 07:59 PM

I'm going to the CoB show in Nov. I never been to the venue before. But its obviously gonna be a big show. Theres no way some piggys are gonna watch thousands of people with one set of eyes. It's funny cuz when people actually fight they do nothing, but with crowd surting or dumb pointless ****. They act all holier than thou.
